Following Wade Barrett discussing his desire for WWE to bring SummerSlam back to the UK, it has now been reported that WWE officials have been meeting with representatives from several major stadiums in the UK about running a stadium event. WWE recently met with representatives from a stadium in London as well as Manchester’s Old Trafford soccer stadium. On Friday, WWE officials will meet with officials from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
– Wade Barrett posted the following on Twitter, discussing the WWE bringing SummerSlam back to the UK… “Wrestlemania 29 tickets go on sale this Saturday and I’ve no doubt that the Brits will again make up a disproportionately large % of sales. After showing that they are the best fans on the planet this week in Brum, I think it’s about time Summerslam made a return to Wembley. There is no place in the world i’d rather beat Sheamus than over the centre-circle of the greatest stadium in the world.”

I think it helped with Vince being over here this time, he saw first hand the support they all received and that a market for a PPV is defiantly here! He would just have to figure out how to work around the time difference as obviously the main income of money comes through the US. But PLEASE not in Wales!!! If it was ever going to happen then it MUST be Wembley! Oh by the way: wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=prowrestling&action=display&thread=263711

I really hope they get one. Honestly, the time difference could be worked out. Personally, as I am an adult who has to work early in the morning on Monday, I would prefer an earlier start time. The fans out there and in other countries are starved for WWE events, and have a passion and intensity that no American crowds can match anymore, simply because we get it too much. If there were less shows, and they came to your town a lot less often, the crowds would be much hotter.
I would love to see one of the big PPVs at Wembley.

its too bad they've used up Sheamus/Barrett already....they've wrestled what 8 times in the last month?
An epic WHC match between those 2 at Wembley Stadium with Barrett finally getting the top spot would be a memorable moment we would talk about for years. Like Bulldog beating Bret.

Time difference really is the main issue. Not only WWE has to consider East coast but West coast as well...if they wanted to air a PPV live from the UK, it would have to start around noon on a Sunday...which would be suicide considering Sunday is family day is usually families are out or at church.
Back in 1992, they taped Summerslam on Saturday night and aired Monday...i read Dave Meltzer had reports of results that people could call in and find out.
Now with social media, twitter, smart phones, etc...it will be really hard for people to pay for a ppv and just read the results instead. Majority of the ppv buyrates come from North America, don't see how WWE could get away unless they start late at night in UK.

The best way to do it would be to handle it the way the UFC used to for UK/international events. Have two airings on that day: One LIVE in the afternoon in the states, and then a replay at the normal start time.

It's not fair to bombard this thread with all these videos for people who want to discuss the topic. I'll leave this final thought with you: You lose.

Urgh. Anvil fan. Stop feeding your haters. Can you really have "haters" if nobody likes you? Wouldn't that make everybody "haters"?
