You inspired me, hahaha just snagged these 2 MOC on ebay for $50.99 shipped! Always wanted them, but I waited cause I thought we would have a red/black version by now.

I asked MDT Bill at ringsidefest if we would ever get LOD in their iconic red WWF attire and he said he thinks that this attire they made is their most iconic and memorable attire and that it would be awhile before they think about redoing them in the red...what a waste lol I would love to see Red LOD in Flashback.

the black nwa look is their most iconic look thats what they used for years before they stepped foot in the WWE. They could have went either way with them. LOD is deserving of another set in the red gear. Agreed. This one absolutely deserves a set, but the other deserves one equally. With the Road Warriors, it's true they were a way bigger deal in the NWA, but you have to remember that as big as it was in the '80s, the NWA was a small stage compared to WWF in 1990. They were probably more well-known to a mainstream audience in WWF - hence why most people know them in the red - but they didn't make nearly as much of an impact. I'd say that it's essential to have both versions. It'd be a shame not to acknowledge what were, for different reasons, arguably equally big parts of their careers. It's kind of like how if Mattel were to have Hogan under contract, they should make both the classic red and yellow version and nWo "Hollywood," but instead were to choose only one.
