I missed RAW what was said? If you lost family to heart attacks I can understand if your upset but a few jokes about a heart attacks is not worse then hanging Bossman or castrating Val Venis on TV

That's just an example. Attitude era. Midgets complained about this?
And many others examples...
For your benefit, get over it.

Even I was very much 'Meh' on the segment last night. I thought Punk did well, but I thought the faking the heart attack thing was coming close to a 'crossing the line' bit...however it didn't turn me off the product by any means.

yep. from the way the op talks, i doubt he even lived through the attitude era. I give up, there is no reasoning with you guys I post my opinions on the storyline and get lots of uncalled for abuse. Goodbye. they've been making fun of jr's bells palsy for like a decade, which is obviously far more offensive. shawn michaels once humped the canadian flag and spat on it.

Making fun of a heart attack = Sin
Stealing the corpse of someone's father = Fine
You're a weird guy.

it wasnt offensive in my opinion as much as it was tasteless. watching paul heyman feign a heart attack was painful to watch because of the obscenely terrible acting. that and it dragged on far too long. it seemed like even a portion of the crowd refused to give them either a cheer or a boo-just waiting for the show to progress with something actually entertaining.
it was childish- is what it was. it just made me shake my head and ask..."really?"

The only thing that i thought about when watching it was that it was so close to the anniversary of Eddie's passing. Can't say it offended me though.

I really hate overly sensitive people that get so easily offended.

I’m talking about real-life issues. Life. Death. When Jerry Lawler collapsed at the broadcast table 2 months ago while broadcasting Monday Night Raw, that was real life. He was really clinically dead for over 10 minutes. He really needed CPR and chest compressions. Lawler returned to a hero’s welcome on Monday Night Raw in Columbus. After embracing colleagues and friends Jim Ross and Michael Cole, he was interrupted by WWE champion CM Punk, the antagonist, who told Lawler if he hadn’t had a heart attack, he’d have beaten him to death. Punk’s manager, Paul Heyman feigned having a heart attack to mock Lawler. Mick Foley, the voice of reason in the passion play that is pro wrestling, came out to tell everyone what disrespectful jerks Punk and Heyman were. In pro wrestling, there is good and bad. It’s always been that way. I thought Foley’s promo struck an appropriate emotional chord because he came out and said everything the fans were probably thinking. He hit a grand slam and the runners on base were Lawler, Punk and Heyman. Genuine emotion and personal issues drive business. We had that in abundance. Punk, Heyman and WWE went too far. That goes without saying. I think that was the point. If I understand Jerry Lawler’s wrestling philosophy, it’s that everything and anything are open game for wrestling angles. You may remember when Lawler’s mother died, they used that in a wrestling angle. Lawler’s numerous failed marriages are mentioned all the time. Lawler’s son was part of his angle with Cole. Before the angle, to add sympathy to a situation that really didn’t need it, we were shown Lawler’s collapsing, we heard him having his heart attack, we saw them shocking him, we saw them giving him CPR. Some have questioned why WWE even had that footage. They have been sued before and it probably made sense to keep a camera on when something that huge was happening. One way that Jerry Lawler has been able to stay a success over the years in wrestling is reality. For years, no one knew whether he and Andy Kaufman actually hated each other. I am not saying they should or should not have used the angle making light of Lawler’s heart attack. But Lawler is fine, he is back and that’s a good thing. He probably loved being back in the mix in WWE again and loved that he could use a real-life scenario to create babyface sympathy and heel heat. The angle certainly got a vocal genuine response from the fans, some of who just brushed it off as part of the show and some of whom were genuinely offended that WWE would use a heart attack as part of a storyline. But seriously, he ing died. He was ing dead. How can people not understand that?

My goodness. People are offended by this but everywhere you go people cry "We want the attitude era back!!!" Anyone on this planet who was offended last night could have NEVER made it through the attitude era.

And the moral of the story is after all that is Wrestling if fake and scripted and every person involved knew exactly what they were doing. It makes for good TV and keeps people talking. The bottom line is after all the bitching and moaning going on is everyone did their job and did it well. Lawler had a heart attack, he came back and is part of the show. Life goes on.

It was poor taste, but I didn't get offended. Punk's tweets about it were actually making me laugh.
Getting offended by it is like getting offended by the AIDS song they used in that South Park movie. It's just stupid humor but don't get offended like some sensitive weenie!

The only thing I worry about is if something tragic happens to Lawler before Sunday. Other than that, eh.

Like I'm sure it's been said last night and today. I guarantee you King pitched the idea. You guys complain about PG but when they do something "attitudinal" it strikes a nerve? This place will never be happy.

Guys, it's a TV show.....is anybody getting offended that Matthew Mcconaughey is filming a movie playing a character who died of AIDs? What about other TV shows were characters either die of ailments such as heart attacks, cancer, or strokes? Hell, I've seen some Soap Opera's where characters actually FAKE having cancer or lie about being raped. It's all just part of the story. Anybody who honestly gets offended by anything they see on a TV show is taking it way too seriously. Perfect way to explain it.
