This a warning to members to not order a custom figure from member chargrove.
I order a razor ramon custom from him back in SEPTEMBER- I sent him the parts needed including a Bulldog body along with a Jakks vest and gold chains, as well as an elite R-Truth as part of payment with the agreement that I would also pay $25 when the fig was done.
He said he would keep in contact with me throughout the process. After a few weeks I hadnt heard anything from him, so I messaged him MULTIPLE times. Since September he had only replied back TWICE. In the second and last message I got from him, after I threatened to report him to the MODs, he replied back and apologized for the delay and not responsding to my messages, saying he had no excuse and he would reduce the fee from $25 to $15 for the wait. He also said hed send pics soon. OK, no problem I said.
Another week or so goes by, no pics, so Ive messaged him repeatedly again. Now he is no longer even opening and reading my messages, even though he logs on almost every day. He hasnt posted here in a while, but I check his profile and he still logs on daily.
I have pretty much accepted that Ive been ripped off. Im glad I didnt send him any money, but it does suck that I lost some figs and the Jakks Razor vest and gold chains, which were perfect for the fig and hard to find anywhere anymore.
This is just a warning to my fellow members not to order any customs from him.

I'm in a similar situation. Paid $100 for two customs from CMD. They were done and paid for by August 5th but i've yet to receive any word back on when they would be shipped. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt though because he's got a good reputation and i've waited longer for people to come through. Hopefully he's just busy.

why did you mail him the vest and chains? couldn't you have put those on the figure yourself when it arrived?

When you receive your items, you will think they are amazing. Sadly, he takes forever and isnt the best in responding to PMs. Sadly, it seems several customizers scam here. You cant expect a customer to be happy if you say you can complete the deal in 30 days and it takes you 4 or 5 months. |

He seemed to be an awesome guy, I talked to him quite a bit too. Heres the last message I got from him, its from July 17th.He was such a cool guy, I talked to him all the time, shame it had to turn out like this  |

He was repainting the vest to match the attire, and he was doing a modded head so I didnt know if Id be able to do a "boil and pop" to put on the chains, so I sent them to put on for me
Yea that was the same Razor fig I was getting, just with a different attire. He does good work, I just wish he would communicate with me. CHARGROVE, if you happen to read this, Im fine with having to wait, I just want to know Im not getting screwed
He always seemed cool to me too and was very accomodating. When we were working out the deal he replied to me every day/every other day. Then once I sent the parts and figs, Ive heard from him twice....

I don't know Chargrove's situation, but I have a ton of orders which quite a few have been waiting over a year for their stuff. It's been one thing after another for me this past year, and been really hard to find the time to work on things.
I sometimes go 2-3 weeks without communication and in some cases it's been a month or two between solid updates.
So in his defense, and any customizer's defense. Life happens first, customizing is ultimately a hobby and has to come 2nd. Now, it's good to make haste with comissioned work, but sometimes it just isn't possible. And I've only had one person give me negative feedback after they received their item. Sometimes quality is worth the wait, and sometimes we just need to be harassed to get crapdone. I try to shoot messages to my customers every couple of weeks, even if no progress has been made, but sometimes my mind wanders into the land of oz and it can be weeks. However, when somebody sends messages 1, 2, 3 times a day or even 2-3 times a week asking for progress, I get annoyed, go figure.

Is weird paying for something and not getting it for a while but with good customizers such as CMD his work takes time and thats just one order, with being as good as he is hes bound to have more than one and customising isnt anyones job around here so its a waiting game this really.
All my dealings with customizers has been long but I always make sure I deal with people who dont have negatives or unfinished/undelivered orders. I will say all the people I have dealt with have been really cool, especially PrideCFC if he doesnt mind me mentioning him.
Its good to know about CMD as I also ordered from him a while ago and im impatient haha but his reputation and peoples word for him keeps me from getting nervous about it.

It's been a long time since I've been here, but hearing CMD is still around is a damn good breather. One of the best customizers of this board's history. It's really disappointing to hear that alot of you are having trouble with him.

They were the Juvi and Jericho from his custom explosion thread. Only thing i'm waiting on is for him to ship. As long as he doesn't take a year i'm fine waiting. |
