If anything in my opinion this was the best Survivor Series Elimination Match and you want to know why, simply put it was because bragging rights were not only on the line but also it was brand vs brand but also you had an all-star team on both teams, but for Survivor Series 2005, this should have been RAW's team:
John Cena (WWE Champion; captain) Kurt Angle Kane Big Show Shawn Michaels
And on Smackdown's team should have been:
Batista (World Heavyweight Champion; captain) Randy Orton JBL Rey Mysterio Chris Benoit
Now that would have made for a better match-up in my opinion

It was the last Survivor Series 5-on-5 that meant a damn. In 01, 03, 04 and 05 they all had implications. Not anymore. WWE.com announces a match with 5 guys and their 5 rivals and boom, there's your main event. No captain trying to gather up team mates, no reason for the two teams to be fighting, no natural build up to the match and no consequences from the match.

Exactly and by having it be brand vs brand on such a grand stage like Survivor Series with it being 5 on 5 actually makes it worth a damn again

If they'd had your line-up, they would barely have anyone else to fill out the card. WWE already booked themselves into that hole this year, hence the Ryback/Cena/Punk match being added.
