My wife picked up a "Toys for tots" type card today at work and it was for a 6 year old boy who wants a WWE figure. I figured we'll get him a couple.
I was thinking maybe doing the TRU BO PPV elites set, but all my TRU has left is a bunch of Cena & a Bret. So I don't know if I want to get him that Cena as he'd be wondering what the Cole parts were for. They have all of the first series of Basics PPV's left. So then I'm thinking a few of those with the Free Taker?
Then I was thinking I have a few $5 off cards along with a $10 off any WWE figures coupon at KMart that expires on Christmas. So I thought maybe getting him 3 Elites at KMart. If we get him the Elites I figured we'd also get him an E16 Punk and either an E15(?) Rey or Orton (12 or 16).
But here's my questions...which Cena do you think a 6 year old would like more? BoPPV, Main Event or E17?
BoPPV Cena - I'm not sure it's worth it gettinh him a baf parts without getting the rest. I would think he'd rather have someting he could use?
Live Event Cena - Not sure a 6 year old would like the posed hands.
E17 Cena - Probably the best of the 3, but would a 6 year old rather have a bright colored figure over the back & cammo?
So around here all 3 are plentiful between TRU/KMart/Target so which Cena do you think we should go with? I'm leaning to E17, but I want to make sure I get him the best.

I would say Main Event is your best bet. It's a colorful figure and I don't think he would mind the hands.
You're right with the BOPPV, no sense getting it with the arms it comes with.

That's what I think about the Bo PPV. But with the LE Cena I'm not sure about the hands I know when I was a kid I loved GI Joe, but hated his "I will give you such a pinch" hands so I always wanted the Kong Fu grip ones. I think the E17 is great, but will a 6 year old love in more than a bright colored one with preposed fingers? When it comes to needy kids at Christmas I always want to give them the best gift I can.

See, that is tough, because E17 is a great figure, coming from a collectors perspective, yet the Red is very colorful. I would say if you can find an E14 somewhere you would be alright.

Ooh! good call I think this KMart had him as well. And there you have it. E14 Cena, E16 Punk and either Rey or Orton. Thanks

I think the kid would be overjoyed with any Cena. Cena's currently wearing a dark shirt and brown shorts so the Rise Above Hate one is closest to how he currently looks on TV, which might be a plus point. But I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Really great that you're doing this, too.

Yea, I was thinking to myself "Wait, there's the BOPPV and Live Event, but wasn't there another Cena?"

Definitely the e17 cena, it's pretty perfect from a collectors point but it's close to current without the gear on so I think he'd like that.

I think the kid would b happy with either. I would go with the E17 just b/c it's a cooler fig.

I do you think that elite 17 is a much better option, in my opinion only because it's more recent and it's something he might not have.

Like Coon said if you can get E14 that would be good, its not a bad figure, its bright, and no extra parts like the BOPPV.

Do any of those Cenas or Punks come with a title belt? I think having a WWE belt would be a big plus for any young kid and would make up for the figure not being the best or most current one Mattel has produced.

E17 is the way to go.

You can always go with the 4 pack from Target that has Rey / Cena / Rock / Austin and has 4 dull belts? Just an option. I have donated 2 BOPPV 2011 Cena's and a 20-0 Undertaker to Toys For Tots outside of my TRU as well as a ton of hot wheels. It's good to see another boardie donating to a great cause!

If you wait until Thursday at 8pm, Elites are going to be on sale for $12.99 at Kmart and they'll be on sale straight through the whole weekend.

i say e17. your reasoning was sound and though a colorful cena would seem a better option, it's just a superior fig

I would say Elite as well. At 6 years old, "Colorful" wasn't as big of a deal to me as "This is an awesome figure"...great on you to help someone in need though. I hope it is returned to you and your wife.

I wouldnt buy an Elite figure for Little Jimmy. Not because of the price, but the way kids play with figures, they bend arms and legs in ways that arent supposed to be bent. Get them a Basic figure or Flex Force.
