I love the idea, and I am always for an open discussion about why this would and would not work.
Why it would: -Consider the eBay prices for rings. The demand for something is there -No one else has the copyright, no one else could do it -It could be an online exclusive, not just to RSC but overall only 3-5 thousand sets to move every couple months. -You could point to the Legends series and say every couple months doesn't work.. But not everyone wants Legends -- kids and collectors still need rings -Even if you didn't own an ESR you could always cut down the ropes to fit them to your ring. When I was a kid putting a knot in your ropes so they would hold up was the norm!
Why it wouldn't -Sure some people would pay $20 for one set..But I could see it working out where down the line people are content with their Smackdown set and wouldn't have much need for the additional ones released (EC, NOC, Extreme Rules, etc) -3-5 thousand pieces might not be worth the time to Mattel -High costs of cloth goods from China
Where we might have something in between: Release exclusive RSC Mattel accessory sets (a table, chair, etc) that also include the occasional set of different colored ropes Include blank black ring aprons with stickers so you could make your own

Make a simple poll, of people just on this site that own the ESr, which would probably be around 100 or so... I mentioned this idea a year ago. Im more than willing to pay $50 for each style ring accessorie. Be it Smackdown, Raw is War, WcW... Bring em all on, but the demand isnt high enough!

The only problem is that we can't limit ourselves to people on this forum. That's why I suggested a RSC exclusive. People order from there and are not members on here. I ordered from them years before I decided to become a member on here. We can't limit the choices of strictly the people on here who want/ don't want things to be made. I understand that the ESR was not a huge seller, but it isn't like we were the only ones to get it. It was released at mass retail. If each store got 5-6, that is still a couple thousand that were sold. RSC exclusives are on average 3000 pieces.

Seems like a tough sell imo. I have to be honest, I was kind of disappointed with the ESR. I mean in terms of detail and all that it's a great piece but the thing is huge. I don't even have mine displayed anymore. Everything is in scale with the basic rings like the stage, chamber, cage, etc. now and we have already been told we aren't getting anything more for the ESR. So for me, it's tough to want to spend money on new ropes, turnbuckles, and aprons knowing I don't get much use out of the ESR as it stands right now. I'd be most likely to spend money on a WrestleMania set to go on the ESR if anything.
I'm in favor of apron packs, but maybe they could work on something that fits over the Basic ring. I'd love a middle-sized ring that falls between the Basic and ESR but that seems unlikely.

Saddest part about of of this is that it is one extreme to the next with these Mattel rings.
ESR Pros: -Nice size -Excellent Detail -Superior to Jakks' RSR
ESR Cons: -One and done deal so no accessories -Too Big for some ppl
Basic Ring Pros: -Variety -Affordable -More Accessories available
Basic Ring Cons: -Too small
I hate to say it but I guess this is one of those things that will never make everyone happy. I myself will stick to my ESR because at the end of the day having a good ring is more important to me than having a good cage, etc.
Mattel gave us many great playsets and I feel that the ESR is better than the RSR but Jakks wasn't afraid to not make some playsets either.

Not too big, real metal posts, wayyy more accessories, looks more like a real ring.

Why do we even have a suggestion board? Seriously.

Why do we even have a suggestion board? Seriously. Why are there two sides to a bed if you're always going to wake up on the grumpy one?

I have to say i agree with those of you who have indicated that the ESR is too large. I always thought it looked a bit too big and prefered the dimensions of the RSR. Event he posts on the esr seemed too bulky for my tastes.
Granted the canvas and ringskirts were superior. And i liked that the turnbuckles and pads worked more realistically
