I realize that my plight for a Stan Hansen figure is very unlikely, but the guy was a huge star in Japan and also the AWA Champion, as short a reign it was.
He's always been a pioneer of sorts to me, as he took a physical style which really was anything but technical and made a solid character and career of it, especially in Japan, where they appreciate and are very critical of technique and technical ability. Even Hulk Hogan wrestled differently there, displaying more moves than he ever did here in the US.
I'll never forget when Stan beat Rick Martel in NJ for the title. The guy made a clothesline look like the most devastating move in wrestling (yes, he worked very stiff LOL). When's the last time you saw someone use a Clothesline for a finisher? (other than Ryback using it against Tensai when he couldn't hit the Shellshock).
If Jakks never got around to him, then I'm pretty sure it's a safe bet that Mattel would never even consider him, but I was curious if anyone else would want to see him produced as well.

When's the last time you saw someone use a Clothesline for a finisher? I am an old school mark to the likes of Hansen and Bruiser Brody and would LOVE to see one made. Oh and Bradshaw's "Clothesline From Hell" ;D

I agree 100%. "The Bad Man from Borger, Texas" deserves a figure. On top of his AWA reign, he also "broke" Bruno Sammartino's neck. ;D First wrestling show I ever went to in 1981 at the Forum in Montreal, Hansen fought Andre the Giant. Best "big man" match I've ever seen.
Here is a clip of the two in Japan where Hansen slams Andre with ease!

Anyone can get caught up in the Attitude Era but it takes someone who really knows their stuff to sing the praises of Stan Hansen. I've been campaining for an updated figure for years. His Remco look-alike just doesn't cut it anymore.

Stan "The Lariat" Hansen is truly a wrestling Legend and deserves the same type of respect as he gets in Japan that's for sure.
I wish Mattel had more faith in the Legends line, Stan quite possibly might have been a reality considering how Mattel's initial strategy was to release figures Jakks never did (Von Erichs, Steamboat, Savage). A slight modification to the L1 Dusty figure and a new head scan/sculpt would be perfect for a Mattel Stan Hansen figure - hell you could even re-colour L2 Funk's cowboy hat and give it to Stan too.
There's been so much potential lost with the Legends line and it's sad.

The story about Stan Hansen running over the AWA Heavyweight Championship after he got pissed at them and sending it back with a huge dent in the main plate is amazing and always gets a good chuckle out of me.

A lot of Hansen working like he did was cause he was legally blind and without his glasses he couldnt see anything. And when he broke Sammartinos neck he botched a bodyslam and dropped Sammartino on his head, but they wrote that it was his Lariat that did it, which further cemented his reputation

Sadly because he wasn't that big in the US, I don't see it ever happening. I'd love it, but sadly just don't see it. I think it would be cool to see a Hansen/Brody two pack. Brody with his chain and vest, Hansen with hat, chaps and bull rope.

I'd buy Hansen for sure. I too wish Mattel would have stuck with the legends line a little longer. There strategy of releasing top names, classic wrestlers and attires and figures jakks never made could have got us one hell of a collection. Stan "The Lariat" Hansen is truly a wrestling Legend and deserves the same type of respect as he gets in Japan that's for sure. It would have been awesome to see what they had planned for series 8 , 9 , 10, 11, 12 etc etc Dino Bravo, Hercules Hernandez, Stan Hansen ... theres a lot of possibilities

Hansen has been one of my top wants since the CS line started. I'd love to see him made.
