Other than looking great, I see no reason why they cost so much more than Jakks. I was comparing my Elite Undertaker 20-0 to my Deluxe Kane and I really couldn't tell much of a difference with quality. For an Elite I could get 2 Deluxe Aggression figures back in the day. I have The Cell and one of the 4 posts on it cracked within a week. It was an easy fix and is fine now but I don't get why it costs over twice as much as my old Jakks Metal Vengeance Arena did. I'm not bashing Mattel. My favite ring I have ever had is their Elimination Chamber and My favorite figure is King Booker but the prices of their stuff is insane.

I was just doing this yesterday aswel! I was looking at my CS figs and told myself wow I cant believe I used to complain for them being 9.99-11.99.......Now I spend 16.99-17.99 for a figure and end up broke quick + college & gas isnt helping which sucks.

Yeah, Elites can be expensive so Basics would be the better alternative.
I was able to get 20-0 Taker free with the TRU promo so my Elites were basically near $12 each.

You do know that we live in the year 2013 now, and that almost everything is more expensive than let's say 10 years ago?
What I am trying to say is, you can not compare prices back then with prices right now.

All action figures are more expensive. At least Mattel isn't like Hasbro's Transformers where the price went up and the quality went noticeably down this year.

I think many of us here have spent hundreds If not thousands on our collections.

What I am trying to say is, you can not compare prices back then with prices right now. I also know that Jakks Deluxe figures are still the same price as they were when they made them for WWE 3 years ago. You can't say it's because they make them for TNA either because the old Marvel TNA figures were the same price as the Jakks WWE figures. Back when I got the Jeff Hardy and Abyss 2 pack it was $12.99 and I also got the Jakks Deluxe 2 pack that day with Edge and Batista for only $2 more. I also think it's funny how 12 years ago when Final Count/Finishing Moves came out I got Edge and Billy Gunn, Undertaker and Kane, and Triple H with either the Rock or Stone Cold for $10 each. It's not like I'm comparing prices now to the 1930s. $10 10 years ago will generally get you the same as $10 today.

Jakks figures can be made more cheaply because they forget to paint the back, and they all use the same couple of bodies.
Very few new toy lines even use six-inch scale anymore because it's so expensive to produce (and thus will ultimately be too expensive for consumers). A lot of toys in the last few years have been at the GI Joe kind of scale.

Jakks is and always will be an inferior product: no scale, few bodytypes, only half painted, ...
Looking at U.S. collectors: you guys (and girls) are spoiled rotten; huge selection, all lines and dirt cheap prices!

I'd still like to know why The Cell I have costed so much though cause it is no where near the quality of some of my cheaper old Jakks rings like Metal Vengeance Arena, Heat Real Sounds Arena, Smackdown Real Sounds Arena, and Raw Real Sounds Arena. The Elimination Chamber Mattel has is amazingly durable and well worth the price though. Other than those and my old WM1 RSR, The Cell is the best ring I've had and I have had a ton of rings like the Attitude Cage Match ring, 4 Stunt Action rings, The old Monster ring that came with 4 12in doll type figures and so many more.

Also I would like to say that it would be nice if Mattel did a budget line.
Jakks had Titan Tron Live figures marketed as Havoc Unleashed for people who couldn't afford RA and DA figures and made them until WWE switched to Mattel. Now they do a line of Bone Cruncher style figures for TNA called Genesis and sell them at dollar stores. Somoa Joe even has a 6 pack on his.
Obviously they are not main lines for collectors but they are novelty pieces that are fun to buy.
I would love if Mattel done something like this!

This is a prime example of Jakks being inacurate: Samoa Joe with a 6-pack... Mattel should've sold the FlexForce cheap, that line just screamed budget.

Jakks's budget line being the Havoc Unleashed figures were just plain terrible, nuff said! Ballonheads on generic itsy bitsy bodies, no thanks!
And as far as I'm concerned, Mattel's Basic line is already their budget line seeing you can already get them for roughly USD 8,- in certain retail stores.

Most of those rings you mentioned were from the height of the toy lines popularity, 2000-2002. The R3 scale didn't stick around too long, I suspect the cost of adding all those extras didn't help it's longevity. One last note, I suspect that Jakks deal with WWE was for less of a cut than Mattel's deal is, add the uncertainty in oil prices and the giant leap in quality, and you have some of the reasons why figures are nearly double what they were in 2000.

If you don't like the quality or the price, then don't buy the product. I used to buy DC Direct Arkham figures for $20-$30 and one broke on me. You don't see me continuing to pump out money to buy them.
If you don't like it, don't buy. I don't think anyone is really twisting your arm into buying things.

I like how I ask one simple question and have to get rude people like you saying the obvious if you don't like it, don't buy it. I only bought and reviewed The Cell and Elimination Chamber on here with tons of comparision pics because I hate Mattel so much! That's also why I said they were worth the money in my review... Oh and I have also never said that the King Booker Flashback and Triple H Entrance Greats are my 2 favorite figures I have ever had sir.

They aren't supposed to be amazing and highly detailed, they are supposed to be affordable to poor people. Why else would they be so cheap?

Comparing jakks quality to Mattel is laughable. Yeah it is! I have had over 100 Jakks figures and less than 5 have broke on me. I have had at least 15 of their rings and have never had one break. I get The Cell Mattel charges so much for and it breaks within the first week.
