I was just wondering any of you had any suggestions on how to go about changing the ring canvas from white to a light blue or light gray on the Mattel basic Superstar Rings? I just think the white doesn't look authentic. I am open to suggestions. I am also open to ideas to where the canvas doesn't move up and down anymore. As well. Although that doesn't bug me as much as the color. I hope I am posting this in the right area.

I want to buy some actual light blue canvas and just fit it over the ring mat. That material that they use as the mat is horrendous. Its way too slippery and whatnot.

Because it is plastic and a large surface area, I would NOT BRUSH. It will look like dog $#i!!. I recently repainted a huge bus for a Lex Express. I used Krylon Fusion spray paint, which is made just for plastic. The end result was very very clean with no paint strokes. Although I have not tried it on a ring yet though I think I might now, I would TOTALLY recommend trying this paint. Here is the closest color. www.amazon.com/Krylon-Fusion-For-Plastics-hyacinth/dp/B00295O60OIf you give it a whirl, drop me a PM and let me know how it turned out!

The color you want is called, "Krylon fusion blue hyacinth" ... the link above is for a set of twelve cans with that color featured in the shot (my bad)... You only want one. It typically is like $7. Well worth it.

If you are going to play with it. I wouldn't suggest painting it. I would use a fabric cover of some sort.

please do! thanks. How easy was it to take the ring mat off? How'd wrap it around so it stayed tight and looked good? I took the ring mat off, strecthed some fabric around it and put it back in place. Ill post some pictures tomorrow.
