I cannot stand the way they look or how they limit playability.

Dont do that mate, You would never want to cut them knee pads off your figures Put your figures shoe in Boiling hot water for 45 seconds and the shoes would be loosened enough to pop out then take the knee pads off then clip their shoes back into the leg!

yeah don't cut them off - someone might want them.
As much as I also hate leg sleeves, they are appropriate for the look of some wrestlers - Dolph comes to mind and look at how long the kneepads are worn for wrestlers like Darren Young and Damien Sandow. Just boil and pop off the boots to slide off the pads, someone else can make use of them.

Yeah, I cut them off if I can't get them off normally, then I use Jakks armpads or kneepads instead.

They are probably the worst part of the mattel line. Next to the overflow of Cena/Rey

I always replace mine with something else too. The only one's I've kept are E17 Kofi and Ryder since their pads aren't easily replaced

This issue has been a serious problem for me as well since the start of the line. I cut all knee pads and remove all elbow pads from the figures and replace them with Ralphs Paddings and Jakks also. With the knee pads that have designs on them, I usually cut out the designs, which are normally in the center of the pads, and glue them onto the front of Ralphs fabric pads. I have a Zack Ryder who I tried it with and it works well.

for some customs i've trimmed those leg sleeves down a bit to look more like traditional knee pads. but if you just want to pull them off, boil and pop!

If you cut off the top and bottom, above and below the "pad" part, it leaves way better articulation. Of course, you have to have a steady hand or it'll look a little silly.

I never cut mine, although see those large kneepads somewhat bother me I tend to ignore it or pop off the leg joint instead.

I cut em off my E11 Punk, in retrospect, should have boiled and popped, but I will when I put the Jakks pads on em. This is probably one of my top 3 biggest issues with Mattel figs. They need pads that offer more articulation.
