I miss the good old days where $24.99 used to buy 3 or 4 figures, or a really cool vehicle for figures.
I haven't seen any increases yet, but if that happens I might have to tap out.
TRU is crazy, but parents are even crazier for not knowing any better.

That's ridiculous. I wrote a pretty polite email to TRU corporate the last time they raised prices and I wasn't even acknowledged with a reply from them. I suggest that everyone write to them and ask what's going on. Why can Kmart and Walmart charge $5 cheaper for Basics and $3 cheaper for Elites? The 16 cases worth of Ricardo series will never sell now and we'll never get the Big Johnny series.

This is why waiting for sales is pretty much necessary now. I'm in Canada and at TRU it's $22.99 for Elite figures. I really don't want to have to resort to getting all of my figures online.

I'm in Massachusetts and my TRU sells BOPPV elites for 22.99 and BOPPV Basics for 14.99. Thought that was bad. But 25.99? That is absolute robbery.

Should these higher prices stay, I'm concerned about the future of the BAF line. Sales will surely slow down on these and what if they slow to the point that TRU no longer wants them?
Using the prices on the TRU website, if you buy all four Elite figures at 21.99, you are paying 17.59 per figure(counting the BAF as a 5th). That is .60 higher than the 16.99 they are charging for a regular Elite. So not only is there no 'value added' to these figures, you are actual paying more?

I think all you have to do is just wait until after january. Retail sales drop off a bunch then and prices i think will go back down. My guess is ToyRus is just trying to milk there exclusives for all they can get while people are still shopping.

TRU jacks prices up on everything, esp if it's an exclusive. Just this past weekend my wife and I spotted the Ninja Turtle Legos and we bought the SMALL set with Raphael for like $27.99, and when we got home I find that it's going to be normally priced at 19.99. It's insane they they jack up the price so much especially since the Lego set was only 162 pieces. RSC will soon have prices lower than TRU at this rate.
