I've posted the first month. Just three friendlies and a transfer or two. No big deal so I just put them as short results. Once I get into the real matches I'll starting writing and formatting properly. I think this could end up being pretty interesting. Definitely shooting for a top 10 finish. Will start replying soon and should have the first game against Swansea by tomorrow.
Thanks.

I really like your layout, nice and easy to follow. Maybe with the leauge games a team lineup would help and a little note explaining who was dropped from the last match. Evans is a great buy esp for 5 mil, should grow well. Beating both Athletic and Athletico in friendlies is a great start. Looks like Taarabt is gonna be your main player. What diff you on? Good luck and keep this up.

Barclays Premier League Match Queens Park Rangers (0-0-0) Vs Swansea City (0-0-0) Saturday, August 18, 2012 3:00 PMQPR Starting XIFormation: (4-2-3-1) GK R. Green RB N. Onuoha RCB J. Evans LCB M'Bia LB A. Traore RDM S. Diakite LDM Granero RM S. Wright-Phillips LM J. Hoilett CAM A. Taarabt ST D. CisseInjuries/SuspensionsNone Pre-Game The players appeared ready to kickoff the season during kick-around, but the real story was the debut of Centerback Jonny Evans and how he will lead this QPR defensive line.
Minute 1 Almost instantly Diakite came up and intercepted a lazy pass from Swansea and QPR went on the attack. They showed aggression, but wonderful teamwork as they passed their way towards the goal. QPR earned a free kick just outside the box after a frustrated tackle from a careless Swansea defender. Cisse took it and missed off the post for a Swansea goal kick.
Minute 10 QPR's midfield really showed up early by intercepting two passes in the first ten minutes. Very aggressive counterattacks from QPR exposed holes in the Swansea defense very early. Although strong and creative, the shots just would hit the back of the net for the QPR attackers. Wright-Phillips, Cisse, and Hoilett all missed solid chances to score the first goal of the season.
Minute 18 Finally in the eighteenth minute Taarabt scored a beautiful goal from just outside the box. It really seemed like this could be a long game for the Swansea defense.
Minute 44 Swansea was awarded a penalty off of a quality save by the QPR keeper, which was cleared away to the midfield quickly. QPR continued to create as many chances as possible, finally scoring again in the 44' minute off a corner.
Halftime With Taarabt and M'Bia on the score sheet early Redknapp's new side showed great potential in their first fixture. They continue to be in the form they were in when they cruised passed teams like Atletico in their pre-season friendlies. QPR was ahead in all categories at half with 54% possession and 7/9 shots on target. Now they needed to hold off Swansea City for forty-five more minutes to secure their first victory of the season.
Minute 46' Cisse started off the half quick and aggressive as we saw earlier, but they just could not find their way back through the Swansea defense.
Minute 68 In the end of the first hour Swansea decided to bring on Pablo Hernadez in place of Routledge, hoping to get that elusive first goal. The tables seemed to have turned on Redknapp as his side was giving up more and more chances. All the luck seemed to be in QPR's favor as Swansea were missing any chances that they created.
Minute 78 After over an hour of fighting hard Swansea got on the score sheet with a beautiful volley off a cross from his right wing. In response to the goal Diakite was taken off in place of Faurlin and Traore was asked to come off so that Fabio could come on and be a pair of fresh legs for this QPR defense.
Minute 90 With the game nearing and end Swansea brought the heat with a few powerful shots on goal in a desperate attempt to tie it up. In the end QPR got out of the match with 3 points and Swansea was left hanging their heads. |
FINAL RESULT: QPR 2 - 1 Swansea City Man of the Match: A. Taarabt Other Results Fulham 3 - 1 Norwich City Newcastle Utd 1 - 0 Spurs Reading 1 - 2 Stoke City West Brom 1 - 2 Liverpool West Ham 2 - 1 Aston Villa

Alright, first match is posted. Replies would be appreciated and returned. Hoping that layout isn't too cluttered or confusing. Trying to make it okay to read for non-football fans, as it seems like most of the sims board is American. Really liking doing this, but I REALLY need to learn to make those tables with forum codes. I'll look into it tonight while I'm replying to other diaries.

I really like the layout and your writing. The team line up looks quality, pace on the wings, Taarabt through the middle and Cisse to finish off your chances. Why no Cesar in goals? Granero should be class in midfield too. Need to put (c) by your captainGood win over Swansea, esp with thier pace. The match write up was a little confusing in parts. Like the 44 min write up, just write simplier. You should buy a striker too, Cisse's good but with the money QPR got you could do much better. Good luck.

Barclays Premier League Match Queens Park Rangers (1-0-0) Vs Manchester City (1-0-1) Saturday, August 22, 2012 3:00 PMQPR Starting XIFormation: (4-2-3-1) GK R. Green RB N. Onuoha RCB J. Evans LCB M'Bia LB Fabio RDM S. Diakite LDM Granero RM S. Wright-Phillips LM J. Hoilett CAM A. Taarabt ST D. CisseInjuries/SuspensionsNone Pre-Game The dominating storyline of the afternoon was seeing keeper Joe Hart on the bench for Manchester City. It was a very questionable call from Mancini, especially with the offensive display put on by QPR in their opener. Also on the Manchester City bench were Balotelli, Barry, and Aguero.
Minute 1 Manchester City started off sloppy, but somehow still managed to get a few quality shots off. QPR definitely did not seem ready for such a talented side.
Minute 20 It quickly became clear it would be a battle between Cisse and Kompany the entire ninety minutes. Cisse was determined to get by him and potentially scoring the opening goal, but the Manchester City captain would not let him by.
Minute 29 The Man City supporters really made sure they were heard as their strikers just could not get an accurate shot off. Although plenty of quality chances, there was always one small error made that would prevent Manchester from going up early.
Minute 35 Manchester City's Yaya Toure had to come off the pitch early due to an injury. The early substitute brought Gareth Barry out on the pitch to try and fill the hole.
Minute 44 Just before halftime the defending champions went up 1-0 after a header from Sinclair.
Halftime It was pretty obvious who was the stronger side as they QPR went into halftime with seven less shots on goal than Manchester City. Queens Park Rangers needed to make a change and make it soon.
Minute 62 After almost twenty minutes of back and forth football the offense of QPR found their chance and tied it up after Taarabt came in with an amazing shot from outside the box.
Minute 63 Manchester City made a substitution in hopes of getting that one goal lead back. David Silva came on in place of Nasri.
Minute 90 At the conclusion QPR took one last corner to try and score that elusive second goal, but the defense of the Premier League champions was too strong as it had been throughout the match.

FINAL RESULT: QPR 1 - 1 Manchester City Man of the Match: R. Green Other Results Wigan Athletic 0 - 1 Stoke City

Love what your doing with this diary, but drawing 1-1 against Man City seems abit far fetched if I'm honest!
