The Beastie Boys.
They did their own thing but never forgot the roots of hip hop and rap.

Micco you left out Rakim. There's not enough slots and Eric B. and Rakim got left out unfourtanely.

Everyone rapper and rap group going for the same prize. The greatest. I know Tupac might be (hopefully not) the most popular choice, and sorry (thesystem) but no ICP. Also I love to discuss about hip-hop so please leave some reasoning why this certain rapper deserves it and why other certain rapper doesn't. So please, discuss. PLEASE VOTE IF YOU VIEW. A) The notion of this being "every" rapper is ludicrous. The amount of slots open to make such a poll could barely scratch the surface of the recording rap populace. B) What's the point of making a poll if you're going to be a confrontational, defensive, and more so, biased host? Putting "sucks" (sorry, "sux") next to any option nullifies, to me, any opinion you could possibly express, as you're apparently incapable of asking the opinion of another without first degrading a certain predetermined response. C) Polls of such a broad spectrum that fail to offer an "Other" option should be ignored and disregarded at all costs. D) You forgot Jay-Z, Kanye, any and all Star Gang Affiliates, everyone in La Coka Nostra that wasn't in House of Pain, listed E and Dre twice for some reason, included Salt-N-Pepa over any number of better candidates, and you spelled "Snoop" wrong.

Either 2Pac, Biggie, NWA, Tribe Called Quest, or Bone Thugs. I personally would throw in Del.

Beastie Boys should be in that poll too, not just for being incredibly innovative but also because Paul's Boutique is still one of the greatest albums of all time.

I didn't mean to spell Snoop Dogg wrong. I don't think it's spelled Snopp trust me. Beside I would hope Jay-Z and Kanye wouldn't get many votes anyways. This is more of a oldschool hip hop vote anyways. Jesus Sorry.

Funny that a white guy has the most votes.

Okay, so, the amended poll is "Greatest Rapper/Rap Group of All Time: All Rappers Going for the Same Prize, so long as they fit the definition of "good" and/or "old school" as determined by WF User: MC Micco, and your opinion is inherently wrong" then? Don't take this the wrong way - I just want to make sure I vote right, as I've pretty much determined this isn't so much a poll as it is a quiz... ...a quiz that you still included Salt-N-Pepa in over both Jay-Z and The Beastie Boys.

Huge fan of Pac but just feel Ems better. Pacs not far behind though. The only white rapper I can ever take seriously is Snow. Eminem is terrible his new songs like Love The Way You Lie are god awful. They all sound the exact same and they are all is him just yelling at the mic all sad about his wife and people he dislikes. There's no flow at all and no good beats. Just yelling. You lost all creditbilty after saying that. You cannot say you don't take Eminem seriously, the dude is a icon and has broken so many barriers that people never thought to be possible. You don't have to like his music but you have to respect him if you call yourself a fan of hiphop/rap.

Ok I'll admit this thread is a trainwreck. How do you lock a thread? Although I don't understand this thing you have going for Jay-Z, but I do agree on The Beastie Boys.

I like his Slim Shady songs but nothing else short of that. I guess what I meant is the only white rapper I like is Snow because I don't take him very seriously either.

Tech N9ne, Eminem, Jay Z, and NWA.
The OP comes off as a "my rap is better than your rap" douche. That's my two cents.
