i like the idea of a shield beatdown on rock, giving punk the win. Rock enters as a surprise #30, eliminates cena to win rumble and head to mania. Somewhere in between cena works his way into that mania match (raw chamber could be announced for the third spot) making it a 3 way dance.
punk v rock v cena. BOOK IT.

Does anybody really believe dirt sheets anymore? Do you guys REALLY think WWE was like "hey, let's announce that The Rock is wrestling in January 6 months ahead of time and let's just NOT plan anything. Yeah, let's just announce the match with NO advanced planning whatsoever and let's just wing it and come up with something the week of the PPV." If they didn't have a plan they wouldn't know they needed The Rock at the event. Obviously they know where they are going. I wouldnt be to sure of that, Hollywood being the perfect example.

I could see The Rock losing to CM Punk (maybe with help from The Shield or something)... but entering and winning the Royal Rumble match. I could see The Shield interfering, they could come out on RAW the next night and say it was an injustice that The Rock got a title shot handed to him without doing anything to earn it and that's why they attacked him. Yes! I hope this happens.

The Rock in a Championship match and the Royal Rumble match itself draw me to it.

The content within the first two paragraphs is correct, but this is more internet bullcrap from some site pretending to be 'in the know', that are drawing their own assumptions. I highly doubt Vince booked this match a long time ago, without planning out well in advance. Rumour has it that Vince likes to know what's going to happen at each Mania almost a year in advance, so this is pure crap IMO. and after last Mania Rock cut a promo about winning the WWE title, showing your right how Vince likes to plan a year out.

And Rock is only available for a certain period of time this year, so its not like they can reschedule him for a lesser PPV down the road. This just seems like typical garbage from a site that isnt PWInsider

I know it won't happen but Vince should should make Punk defend the title in the Royal Rumble match! That way we will finally have a Royal Rumble with the title on the line again, and that way The Rock could be in the rumble as well.

I like the idea of Punk having to put his title on the line in the actual Rumble itself. It gives a much needed sense of urgency to the match, which it needs desperately.

To me the rumble is a top poverty anyway but why not do rock n punk? There are still plenty of big matches that he can do at wrestlemania

If they actually built up and booked the Rumble match well like they always used to, it wouldn't matter what other big match was on the card, the Rumble match would be the most important and most anticipated match.
