The other day my 2 sons 4 & 7 (who are my collecting partners) had our loose Big Boss Man Elite figure out and like most of us here I am not rough with my loose figures and the leg broke off in my hand. Was bummed even though have another MOC so I called Mattel and because they did not have him in stock they sent me a voucher for a free Elite figure from Target, Wally, T R U and some other spots!
I was blown away by this and was not aware of the 1 year warranty. I did not need to show any proof of purchase, pics or anything. Needless to say I would never try to run a "scam" because I believe that stuff to come back around.
So in case you were not in the know (like me) round up your broken Mattel's and give them call: 888-762-8835

Thanks for reminding me. My Ricardo BAF came without his bow tie. I just called and they actually checked with the parts department to see if they had that part, but they didn't. They're only sending me a $5 voucher, though. I thought they would send me the full price of the figure, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Ive had 3 figures break on me, and I do not play with my figures by any means, I have them displayed. Elite 2 Orton, Series 2 Kozlov and L2 Jake Roberts. I dont get it, I picked them up and the leg just falls off.

@ The Hitman its free to call and try. We all spend big bucks (at least I know I have) on these figures with their company and even when their legs just fall off we keep going back for more. It is smart of them to keep us happy. I was impressed by how easy it was and how awesome the customer service rep was.
I tried to hit her up to see if she could search out some figs for me but they can't sell any thing but what is on line. Which is crap basically.

did the same thing with an email after i got my Diesel and on the belt there were only half of the side-plate things. got a voucher for a whole dang new fig.

By the way I asked I'd they cover painting because I recived a CM Punk Exclusive for Christmas and his wrist tape had black spots all over it and I figured that if someone was paying $40 or +$40 with shipping the fig should be perfect. I dont want a voucher or anything and I'm not gonna call cuz it's doesn't upset me it's just I feel bad for the purchaser.

I've gotten vouchers in the past...mainly for fused (sp?) joints.
2x for the B2 Kozlov
1x DM Macho
4x with various DCUC/Movie Masters
All of the suffered from a fused hip that snapped/tore off when I tried to to move them.
As for painting I can't see them giving a voucher for that, because people would be calling for every minor spot/blotch they see. These are mass produced toys paint apps aren't going to be perfect.

Mattel is very good with this. The only problem is that distribution isn't that good and certain figures aren't easy to find so if a popular figure breaks you will get a replacement Elite but it might not be the one you want.
I had an issue where my Entrance Greats HBK had two left feet. I informed them and they sent me a voucher. Luckily the Entrance Greats were widely produced so I had a no problem getting a new one. The stores might take awhile to put it through because they don't understand how it works but if you are patient and don't mind waiting a good 5-10 minutes until they sort it out then it's cool.
Mattel also did this with my Elite Scale Ring. When I got my ring I noticed one of the turn buckles was ripped in the package. I informed them and asked if I could get replacement turnbuckles. They said they didn't have them and then said we'll just send you a new ring. I wasn't complaining.
I really hope I didn't put any ideas in people's heads but I'm sure I did. I really hope people don't go to Mattel with lies to get free figures because I do believe in karma and it's people like that who ruin it for others who really only do this when they have an issue.

They sent me a voucher when I got my first BoPPV HHH figure. One of his legs was so loose he couldn't stand up, even with the cape helping to hold him up. The lady was super nice about it and offered me a voucher for what I paid from TRU. Just be warned, sometimes if it's from somewhere like TRU where the figures are sometimes exceptionally more than what the suggested price is, they may want a copy of the receipt.
