I don't have an up to date system all I ever play is PS2, my favourite gaming device by far after playing PS3 and 360 at friends houses I can safely say I love my PS2

I saw this news a couple of days ago. I was always surprised that year after year I'd see new titles being released for the PS2.

Already had a huge conversation about with with a bunch of my friends.
I don't think it was a sad death, more of a well-earned retirement.
Long live the PS2.

I can't even describe how much I loved my PS2, and all the research I put into finding the best bundle deal. I bought one of the first gen systems & it still worked perfectly. But when I tried trading it in like a year ago, no one would take it because of how old it was. Oh well, I just gave it to my dad to play some poker games with.

My best memories are watching WWE DVD's and playing SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes The Pain.

Crazy to think it lasted so long. I remember the first game I played on there was Tekken Tag Tournament and how I couldn't wait to get SmackDown!: Just Bring It the next day for Christmas. Feels like yesterday. Now, here we are today and I'm playing '13 and the second Tekken Tag Tournament on the 360. I definitely have some great memories of this system, even if I did stop using it a long time ago. Not sure if anything will ever beat its start-up menu and logo sound fx.

Definitely the console of a generation imo. Everyone has a PS2, it was just a perfect all round console.

It's important to remember what started on PS2. Silent Hill 2, GTA III, the first Guitar Hero, MGS2/3, the Smackdown series, Okami, and many others that eventually wound up elsewhere all made up the feel for the system. I'm happy to see so many PS2 games remastered in HD. Games like Shadow of the Colossus were able to be optimized the way they weren't able to when released, so it's a great way to reexperience it and other great games from that era.
