In my opinion headsculpts can make or break a figure.
If it doesn't look like the person it's supposed to be it can and does ruin a figure for me.
In the opposite way a great likeness and sometimes expression can make a quite plain figure into a favourite.
I've been looking over my collection in detail recently and it makes me sad that some of these great figures will always not be quite right and as good as they should have been due to a headsculpt that's missed the mark on likeness.
Anogther problem is when Mattel first started producing these figure up to about Legends 3 Elite 10(?) alot of the heads they made where smaller than what we get now. So sometimes the older figs look a little misplaced next to newer figs.
My questions :
Would you like guys released in the basic line mainly for the purpose of a headswap?
If so who?
These questions are more for the Legend/Flashback collector as many of the modern guys who need updating have left the WWE.
The Basic versions of Guerrero, Ultimate Warrior, Goldust, Bret Hart and HBK seemed to do really well at retail so maybe Mattel would be able to help us out while still releasing great and money making basics....?
My personal list of guys I feel need only a better headsculpt to make them Great =
DDP
Big Bossman
Diesel
Jimmy Snuka
HBK (modern late 2000s)
Heath Slayer (B-too small E-not great)
Edge (Modern) +
Heads that are too small =
Modern bald Rock (way too small)
Vickie Guerrero
Rey Mysterio
Ricky Steamboat L1
Paul Orndorff *
Sgt Slaughter *
Piper (Bob Orton era). *
Goldust E6 +
Chavo Guerrero +
Matt Hardy +
DH Smith +
Tommy Dreamer +
Batista +*
Rick Rude*
Heads too big =
Bam Bam Bigalow (too big too fat)
Mr Perfect *
* Not sure
+ probably not possible
I don't see a problem with a series of basics with a legend thrown in i.e Bossman, Diesel, DDP etc.... in.
What do you think on the subject?
