I think if the WWE moved PPVs to saturdays PPV buyrates would be higher. This especially concerns international viewers. Most of the international viewers need to work/go to school on mondays and they don't want to spend the night (like 2am to 5am here in Germany) watching Wrestling PPVs. If PPVs were on saturdays international guys could watch the PPV because they don't have to work on sundays.
Why do PPVs only happen on sundays in the first place? And what do you think about that idea?

No. Sunday is perfect. It gives a 24 hour time period between the PPV and RAW that Monday. Anything more than that would be too much time, in my opinion.
PPV's used to be held during different days of the week in the early 90s. Tuesdays specifically.

I completely disagree. People go out on Saturday's, and a lot of them won't be willing to give up one of their only nights off where they can stay out late and tell their friends they can't go out because "there's a wrestling show".
And just for the sake of covering your bases, parents go out on Saturday nights too. They may be less apt to buy the show for their kids if they're not around.
The only group of fans this technically favors is the international audience, and, at the end of the day, American buys still come first.

I definitely see where you're coming from and your statement makes perfect sense. However I need to disagree with that last statement. If you take a look at the PPV buyrates you'll notice that the international buyrate is almost as high as the US buyrate. If they moved PPVs to saturdays I'm sure buyrates would be equal or the international one even higher. That means: more money for the WWE and we all know that this is basically everything Vince cares about these days.

The international buys may increase, but I think they'd decrease domestically unless WWE can consistently put together solid, full cards that warrant staying in on a Saturday night. Let's face it, they haven't been able to do that very often. Keep in mind, a lot of the Pay-Per-Views are free (or free with subscription) internationally as well.

However I think they at least should try this for like 1 minor PPVs and 1 of the big fours just to see what kind of effect it would really have. PPVs are only free in the UK as far as I know

I only know that the UK gets so many "free" Pay-Per-Views a year, but they still have to pay a subscription fee to access Sky Box Office, the network that broadcasts them. You're right - at the end of the day, the only way to know is to try it. The same can be said about holding a Pay-Per-View in the UK. If they're going to give it a shot, do it with a show that traditionally performs poorly to minimize risk, build it well, and take it from there.

i think its mainly because the following night is raw which will get more ratings probably because people want to see the aftermath from the ppv, i dunno.
However, i like the idea. I've gone to college with 3 horus sleep on numerous occasions due to me staying up watching ppv's till 4am haha

I live outside of the U.S and if there is a PPV i usually sleep earlier (In my country they start at 4) to watch it, so i'm happy with Sunday nights

Then again, people go out on Saturday nights. Unless they can consistently get a great card or the main events are must see, then Sundays will work best.

WWE moving their PPVs to Saturdays is a great idea, if they want UFC to kill their buyrates even more

Yet most of the internationals are watching it live on free stream somewhere in the Internet, especially in Europe.

Counterpoint: The international buyrate would become higher, because the domestic buy rate would decrease. In my opinion. Saturday night is when a lot of people go out for fun w/ friends &/or various other activities. Sunday is a night when most people are home. That is why Sunday night was initially chosen as a PPV night(back in the 80s), I believe. I think that may be why the idea of Saturday Night Main Event was abandoned. Twice.

Growing up as a kid I always thought they would be cooler on Saturday nights. But once you enter high school/college and start going out every weekend, you realize they're much better off on Sundays.
