So I had an E17 Ryder up on eBay sometime before Christmas. Sold it for 25$ shipped just to get it off of my hands. There was an issue when I went to ship it, where it had fallen out of the bag in the back seat so I marked it as shipped, since I thought I had, and didn't realize I hadn't.
So the buyer opened a case a little bit later after we had both communicated saying it was shipped and should've arrived by now. I then find the package a few days after the case was opened, explained what happened, and shipped the item. I also told him that as a showing of good faith and to apologize for my mistake, I'd issue a 5$ refund via a 'gift' payment once the case was closed.
PayPal put a hold on 25$ of my PayPal, which was annoying, but I understood it. He got the item on the 31st, and as of this day, still hasn't communicated back to me to close the case. So, yesterday I escalated to eBay and let them handle it.
I've since got my PayPal funds back and the buyer got the item, but they issued him a full refund? The guy was a piece of garbage, completely disrespectful in both personal messages and the description of the claim, yet he gets the item AND his money back?
Like I said I got the money back so that's all good and well, but is it wrong to piss me off that someone who is incredibly disrespectful not only gets their item but gets it for free?
Just something that was on my mind and bugging me. Don't mean to annoy anyone with the post, but I'd assume at least someone else has had something similar happen?
Take it easy guys.

I hate Ebay. I have some issues going on right now. It annoys the hell outta me. Someone bought something from me 1 week ago and I still have not received the money.

You shouldn't have sent the item if they had already refunded the guy. Forget messages, I'd just call Ebay customer support and let them get a piece of my mind.

They just refunded him at some point today and let me know the case was closed. I contemplated calling and speaking to someone, but at the end of the day it's not their fault and I'm not out any money, so I didn't want to make their day worse by bitching. I've worked in a call center, it's hard enough without people calling all pissed.

Since then, I require immediate payment. I've had more than a few items re-listed and people pissed because after 24 hours I canceled their purchase.

Yeah I dont even deal with ebay anymore! Both buying and selling seem to be issues anymore and its just not worth the hassle. I feel like its to easy to rip people off. I lost $175 on there two years ago and since then I dont support ebay anymore.

I have had so many problems on eBay. Someone won on a bid and then after a few days said they don't want the item. I still use it to buy but not sell.

i use ebay to sell nuerous things. Its absolutely shocking. They just, are no help at all. And yes, this has happened to me before with a phone i sold.
I also hate when you sell something, and the person who's ended the listen by clicking "buy now" or biddded out the rest of the watches/bidders doesnt intend to pay ad just bought it for the fun. P*sses me off so much such as, having it up for 8 days only to find someone buy it and end the listing who has no intention of paying - the amount of times i've contacted ebay and they dont even get them to pay, they just "leave a warning" on their profile -.-

Where do I start about Trash Bay?
The people who bid and never pay. I've only sold maybe a hundred items on ebay, mostly just toys from my childhood/ toys I don't want/ comic book purges. I don't do big time wheeling and dealing or I would have to imagine the statistic being worse, but out of 100 or so auctions, I've had to do non-payment cases at least 20 times.
The ease with which people can scam you and get away with it.
The blurry pictures some of these fools take.
The awful descriptions people give. What universe some of these guys who sell loose wrestling figures live in where the items they sell are in "good shape". Sorry pal, "minor play-wear but overall great shape" doesn't mean half the hair is missing paint on the side you didn't photograph and animal chew marks on the foot that was just outside of frame. It's gotten to the point that I won't buy loose from someone with small blurry pics, or if they don't have front and back photos of the full item. Photos are free now, don't be stingy!
I've been lucky on this front, but have checked several profiles that weren't, but all the stupid stupid stupid ***holes that leave unjustified neutral and negative feedback because of stupid stupid stupid reasons like not being smart enough to read a description or even a descriptive title. I purchased from a guy recently who had only one negative. The title of the auction was for a CM Punk with a custom shirt. The negative feedback? T-shirt wasn't factory made. The words CUSTOM SHIRT were in the title.
Anyway, I've sold things at a loss to my local comic shop now just so I don't have to deal with the pain in the rear that is ebay.

Believe it or not I've been lucky and never really had a major issue.
Except one time I had 2 items sell, and of course, were both to Canada. So I shipped them the same day and I confused the items/addresses and each person got the other person's item. I of course just had them ship to each other and I would reimburse them for the shipping, and then some for their hassle. Well the one guy was cool and the other was a total assbag. He still left me negative feedback and opened a dispute after I refunded him $20 to his paypal when the shipping cost to him was only $11.

And it's things like this that put off more and more people from FleaBay ... No customer service, shoddy sellers, even shoddier buyers and rip off fees

Yeah I think I'm done with Ebay myself. I just sold my Jakks lot of over 60 figures. And the guy still hasn't paid. Its been about 5 days now. I don't even know wtf to do because I'm so new to ebay. But all in all I think I'm just done, at least as far as selling is concerned.

This has happened to me a few times. It happens when there's some kind of issue with the buyer but eBay doesn't find the seller at fault. They'll give both parties their money back. Just chalk it up at being lucky that they didn't keep your $25.

I haven't had really any serious problems with ebay. Pretty much all smooth transactions buying and selling..I have had a couple buyers that won that didn't pay. I give them 3 days and unless they message me I re-list it. I pretty much block 0 feedback bidders once they bid I delete it and block them. Same with people that have a lot of neg feedback as well. I probably have about 20 ppl on my block list.

I admit I probably have the worst luck as a seller on eBay. I could have the iPad 6 right now and still wouldn't get a bidding war on my auction. But I've been a buyer/seller on ebay since 2001 and honestly only in 2012/13 have I had some of the most terrible experiences as a seller. First of all, everyone should know that 9 times out of 10 eBay will side with the buyer no matter what. Buyers are customers, who would keep using their services to buy more things on eBay. They would be foolish to leave a bad taste in a buyer's mouth if a case was decided against them - why would any buyer continue to shop on eBay? So they protect buyers to the death. And as a seller I've gotten burned. I had a UK Exclusive WCW Galoob Barry Windham in excellent condition and some guy from the UK bought it, didn't purchase tracking and it costs a bit to ship across the pond. He claims he never received it, I showed eBay pictures of my post office receipt with the dude's address on it and the date it was sent, but because I didn't have a tracking number....bastards gave him back his money and I know he's got my rare figure Just recently a buyer claims his package came damaged from me, didn't supply me with any pics as proof, opened a case and I was forced to give a partial refund. And quite recently there's been many non-paying winners, even when I have a ton of restrictions on who can bid on my auctions - ugh. People just will not response and will take the warning bars after the case is closed 5 days later.
