Celebrate television history January 14, 2013
Twenty years ago, Mr. McMahon’s idea for a gritty, cutting edge show became reality when Monday Night Raw debuted live from the Manhattan Center in New York City on Jan. 11, 1993.
Now, Raw stands as the longest-running weekly episodic television show in history. What will unfold when The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment comes to Raw to perform a Rock Concert? Here are five reasons you don’t want to miss the historic television event tonight at 8/7 CT on USA Network!
1. The Great One to perform Rock Concert!
The Rock already served notice to WWE Champion CM Punk — he will be taking his title at Royal Rumble. Last week on Raw, The Great One did what he does best and laid into Punk on the mic.
What else will The Rock have to say about Punk, Raw and his plans for 2013? The atmosphere is sure to be electric when The Brahma Bull comes to Toyota Center in Houston to help celebrate Raw’s 20th anniversary with a Rock Concert!
2. Team Hell No to undergo four-month follow-up evaluation with Dr. Shelby
It’s been a rocky road for Team Hell No since their formation in 2012. They must be doing something right, though, as the duo continues to reign as WWE Tag Team Champions.
But what does Dr. Shelby think?
On Raw’s 20th anniversary, the good doctor returns for a four-month follow-up evaluation of Daniel Bryan and Kane. What will he discover about the unlikely pairing?
3. Kaitlyn gets her match with Divas Champion Eve
If there is any Diva, or Superstar for that matter, who exemplifies a never-give-up attitude it’s Kaitlyn … and she’s looked great all along the way!
Time and time again, the powerhouse Diva has met any and every challenge thrown her way, including winning NXT Season 3 with no prior in-ring experience, a Divas No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal last August, a Divas Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match against Layla last November and getting the winning pinfall over Divas Champion Eve in a Santa’s Helper Eight-Diva Tag Team Match on Christmas Eve.
Will the 20th anniversary of Raw usher in a new Divas Champion when Kaitlyn and Eve finally go one-on-one for the title?
4. Will 2013 be a good year for John Cena?
On the special New Year’s Eve edition of Raw, AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler rattled off all of the loses John Cena endured in 2012. But the Cenation leader had the last word when the conniving couple was drenched in a smelly mess!
Things continued to go Cena’s way on the first Raw of 2013 when he defeated Ziggler with a blistering Attitude Adjustment. It certainly seems Cena has already left the past behind and is ready to take 2013 by the horns.
On Twitter, WarrenC_Y2JFan said: “… I wanted 2 thank wwe universe ... For your unwavering #loyalty thru what hasn't really been a banner year 4 me. #nevergiveup 2013 the champ will be here!”
What is in store for the 12-time World Champion in 2013?
5. What’s next for WWE Champion CM Punk?
While John Cena had a rough 2012, WWE Champion CM Punk overcame countless challengers, as well as knee surgery, and somehow came through it all with his title still intact.
The new year kicked off with the champion surviving a brutal TLC Match with Ryback … thanks to some help from The Shield.
But the landscape has changed now that The Rock is back and already scheduled to face Punk at the Royal Rumble. Is the clock ticking on Punk’s reign, as Rock claims? Or will Punk continue to find ways to back up his claims of being "Best in the World"?
Raw’s 20th anniversary special is sure to be an interesting start to a year of unknowns. Don’t miss it! - Write-up courtesy of WWE.com

Why another Kaitlin vs. Eve? Kaitlin lost all their matches.

If Kaitlyn doesn't win tonight, can they seriously ditch this feud? I've been tired of it since she lost the first 5 times.

Why another Kaitlin vs. Eve? Kaitlin lost all their matches. I think Kaitlyn has actually WON all of her matches with Eve, just by DQ and count out. Because Eve always cheats or runs away. Clearly they are building up the story that Eve is afraid to fight Kaitlyn 1-on-1 in a fair fight. Eventually Kaitlyn will get the win and take the Title....just building up to that point.

I'm pretty sure Kaitlyn will win the Divas Championship tonight, which will then leave to Eve leaving. I guess the Rock's concerts should be good, Raw's like this are usually let-downs to me, but it should still be good fun.

I think it'd be cool if they put Eve and Kaitlyn in a Steel Cage match. It'd make sense but since its the Divas, they're not getting a match like that, at least not anymore.

As long as it isn't just lame cameos, then it should be a fun show. I'm all for Legends and Alumni making appearances, even being in matches, but not if they are s*** segments and matches full of Hornswoggle, Great Khali, Mae Young skits and all that nonsense.

Also, tonight would be a great way to get the New Age Outlaws back on TV. They've been working house shows, so get their asses back on TV.

I'm looking forward to tonight. Hopefully, they make this a special episode. I forgot about the Dr. Shelby thing, I'm looking forward to that. I've been kind of tired of the Team Hell No schtick for a little while now.

I'm not expecting this to top Raw 1000, but think it will end up being a fun show. I would like to see Punk do a run in on the Rock & hit the GTS to end the show. Just like Raw 1000, the show ends with Punk standing over Rock.
