All the good and bad in the WWE right now has been summed up by the last couple of weeks of programming alone. On the plus side, both the mid-card Champions have looked pretty great and have made the IC and U.S. Titles look like they're worth a damn again. Barrett getting a big win against Orton and Cesaro's dominance lately has made them both look on another level. Cesaro looks like a borderline main eventer, and when you're holding a belt that hasn't mattered one but for a long while now, that's pretty amazing. Then there's Ziggler, and while I'm not a big fan of Big E (no pun intended) or that Ziggler still needs a woman and a bodyguard to help him all the time, I have to say his recent feud with Cena has propelled him even further into the realm of bonafide main event star. He's always been on the brink, and he's even had World Title matches before but he looks more ready than ever to be a top Champion. The Shield are great, but perhaps they are lacking direction. I think we have 3 great talents there, hopefully they don't lose steam. Del Rio's Face turn has been really refreshing IMO and as although I've always been a fan of him I can even admit that he has been fairly stale and directionless in recent times. Miz seems to be getting more comfortable in the Face role too. His matches with Slater and Primo in the last few weeks have been some of his best too, in my humble opinion. Rock and Punk have had some great interactions already, 3MB are way more fun that I initially was expecting (still a joke, but a good one at least, and isn't their music great?), and the Tag Team Division has been top notch for a while now. On the other hand, the last few episodes of Smackdown have featured some horrid 2 minute matches, and far too much Great Khali and Hornswoggle. Even though I know many of you despise Tensai, you cannot deny his credibility has been and continues to be destroyed. The Divas Division has taken another hard hit with the loss of Eve. PTP, despite not being anwhere near favorites of mine, seem to have been kicked to the curb a bit lately and I cannot understand why; personally I'm glad they aren't the top dogs, but I don't think they should be jobbers either. Keep the division competitive, WWE, ya know? Plus, as always, there are some real talents that are just being totally ignored. It's getting better in that regard, but IMO Gabriel, Kidd (prior to the injury), Riley, Hunico, DiBiase, The Colons and The Usos deserve more. And God damn do I miss Christian. A fair summarisation of the current state of the WWE, do ya think? Discuss.  |

That would be awful. I believe that Rock/ Cena 2 is where they'll head from the Rumble with Rock beating Punk and Cena winning the Rumble |

i'm just a huge punk fan, and don't like what i see happening...i'm admittedly biased. He should say it backstage. I'm a big Punk, Cena and Rock fan and I agree that putting the WWE Title on Rock just to put it on Cena again two months down the line would be pretty crappy. Punk going out there and completely destroying kayfabe just to get that point across would be terrible though. I'm all for taking backstage issues or real-life feuds and making them into storylines, I'm really against the idea of a promo that basically goes 'Wah wah I'm pissed off because in this fake sport we do the writers have decided I'm losing my belt at the Rumble in a fake scripted fight wah wah.' EDIT: Basically what McBlake said, lol. |

I gotta say. My enjoyment of the product right now is the highest it's been in a long time. I absolutely love stables in wrestling, and I'm still loving The Shield. Something very satisfying to me about their music hitting, them pacing through the crowd, and creating havoc in the ring. Rock is one of my favourites of all time with Punk not too far behind and their feud is great so far. Plus you have guys like Ziggler/Cesaro/Sandow cementing their futures in the company.
My main issue is that right now it's all build up... What will be the climax to The Shield story? How will Cena/Punk/Rock fit into the WWE Title picture? Under what circumstances will Ziggler cash in, and how well will his title reign be booked? The answers to these questions will be make or break for the next few months of the WWE. I mean, it's very possible we get a crapty Rock title run for a month until Cena inevitably wins it at WM. It's also very possible that Shield become Nexus 2.0. Point is, I'm remaining skeptical about what's to come, but right now it's looking good.
My other problem is still that RAW is an hour too long. I think the transition to 3 hours has been handled dreadfully. It's not that the content is necessarily bad, but rather that it's almost impossible to sit through a whole 3 hours. I absolutely can not watch it live any more.
oh also, I'm still not down with these random face turns. Miz is alright, but Del Rio makes no sense to me. He's still a cocky Mexican aristocrat except he likes his greasy little friend now... I don't get how it translates to being a babyface. Just seems like lazy writing.

Definitely agree with your whole second paragraph. As for 3-hour RAWs, I could happily sit through the whole show, if only 2 hours of it wasn't utter crap. |

The Rock deserves the belt 1000x more than Punk does. The Rock will continue to bring ratings up, do another massive buyrate for the next 2 ppvs, and sell a ton of merch. CM Punk's reign while long was mediocre at best in terms of drawing and creativity. Don't care if it wasn't his fault, he still failed to draw big money. His time is up, time to give the belt back to the big boys. |
