That's exactly what I was saying. It has nothing to do with supply and demand...but people feeling as if they were lied to or ripped off. It was promoted as the "Ringfest Exclusive" with the remaining being offered on their website after. Well that means there shouldn't have been any B/O, because once that supply was sold out...that should have been it. But by ordering more now it's NOT what it was promoted as being. Which was a limited event (Ringfest) exclusive. People went to RF just to buy that figure because of it's exclusiveness and now by RS ordering more it"s going to piss people off who thought they were buying an event exclusive. It doesn't phase me, but I think from a business move it was a mistake on RS for restocking it because it will have ruffled more feathers then it's worth by ordering more. I forgot it was an event exclusive. You're absolutely right about ordering more. With that being said I still believe it is a supply and demand issue. Think about it: if they "found" more in the back of the warehouse wouldn't they sell them all at $40 or however much it went for last? It's selling for original price now, which means they got a ton more in. It might ruffle a few feathers (for now; this will be long forgotten in a few months), but if Mattel called them up this morning and said "hey, we're making more of those SCSA figures that sold so well, would you like some more?" do you honestly think RSC should or would say no?

For all we know these could have been the same order, but Mattel split up production...which is fine. But if RSC did place another order for more I say it was a mistake. One because it was the Ringfest exclusive and two they are now selling it for less then most paid for it when it was the Ringfest exclusive. I just think it would be a better business move not to potentially upset their customers.
Sure people want the figure(or belts) but then they had the chance to order it when it was still in stock and didn't for whatever reason. If it is in fact a second shipment/order I wouldn't have placed it if I were RS. Instead maybe I would have asked for another exclusive with the title or maybe RS could have asked for a RS exclusive belt set with those two belts included in it...but I wouldn't have ordered more Austin figures. (if that is in fact what had happened.)

I figured they would get it again just like they did with the Kane. I might finally order him with the Cactus now.

Yeah, I knew paying $38 for it when it was "on sale" was gonna piss me off in the end. I know Ringside wants to make our money, but it was a pretty dickish way to do so. But they got my cash, squeezed out a few extra bucks, and that's what matters in the end, right?

Here's a quick question for you guys who order from RSC frequently: If I preorder this Austin tonight, will they wait to charge my card till they actually ship the item to me, or do they charge it as soon as you order, regardless of if the item is in stock or not? It's tough to beat that price for that figure with those amazing belts. They'll charge you as soon as you preorder/order. But it just as soon as they have it in stock, it will quickly go out to you. Thanks. Good to know.

I'm glad I waited for the price to go back to normal! Snagged two Austin's and two cactus jacks. Can't wait for these! The thing is. They wouldn't charge insane prices if they weren't selling for insane prices. I missed out and they raised the price so I waited. And bingo! Snagged him for the original price.

My point is, that Ringside is a business and they are allowed to make money. yes. They did the exact same thing with their exclusive Kane 2 years ago....when they were low on stock they raised the price to $40, then $50. 3-4 months later they re-supplied it and were selling at $24.99.
Now this thing with the Austin. I don't care that they re-stocked as much as they bumped the price up $15 when they were "low" on the original, then they just get a bunch more and sell them for LESS than what they charged when it was being sold the first time around.

(if that is in fact what had happened.) I believe they told RSC "Hey, we're sending you X-amount of Austin exclusives, so buy them and sell them to everyone on WFigs that complained that they missed out." There's no other explanation to selling them at original price. If people bought them at $40, they would continue to do so. Besides, Mattel gives RSC the volume discount as well as exclusives to sell. You tell them no, and they find someone else to partner up with. And Chip, are you mad because others will get it cheaper than you? While I can understand it, check out the official posting thread: everyone's excited that they get another opportunity to purchase this. By doing this they may have upset the few that bought Austin at $40, but the dozens (or more)that can get him now are praising them. Sadly, that's the reality of owning a business and trying to make money: you can't always make the right call. And I'm willing to bet that those that purchase regularly from RSC that are mad right now will consider going elsewhere in the future, but ultimately continue to buy from them.
