I find it funny that almost 85% of the people posting comments about this "soap opera writer" have no f'n clue who he is. Court Bauer is the guy who created MLW and brought it many of the names we see on the indies, WWE, and TNA television today. Court Bauer QUIT his WWE Creative job, he didn't get fired. So, sure he is "without a job," but it was on his own terms. Court Bauer is one of the most ingenious and brilliant minds that the wrestling industry has right now. He has been compared to a young Paul Heyman and MLW was one of the best indies during it's peak. What he said about TNA acting like taking Impact on the road is a big announcement is true. Who really gives a crap. They are going to end up spending and losing more money by going on the road. I think it's great when armchair wrestling experts try to claim that Court Bauer is a "nobody." Do your homework if you're going to comment on something. If I have to do homework to find out who he is, chances are he's a nobody. I've never once heard about anybody being the next Paul Heyman outside of Gabe.

While I do think the hype of the announcement was a big larger than what it needed to be, I do thing its a positive for the company. As Beer Money pointed out, its a sign of growth and now allows fans a chance to catch TNA locally.
A lot of people are saying this should have been done a while back. Very true, but maybe the company just didn't have the resources to pull it off.

It's big news because if you're a TNA fan then it means TNA could be coming to a city near you. If I love TNA but have never seen the show live, this is a big announcement.
Should they have done this a long time ago? Probably. I'd argue there are plenty of pros and cons to both situations, but it doesn't change the fact that I'd rather have TNA come to West Palm or Ft. Lauderdale once or twice a year rather than driving up to Orlando. I can imagine people in other parts of the country are very excited by this if they like the product.
It's a big announcement for TNA. May not be monumental news for WWE, but for TNA it's a big step and deserves to be advertised as such. How is this any different than WWE taking their show live in the 90's? It was a step in the natural progression of TNA's business model. I have zero issue with it.

When I saw Dixie Carter posted this on facebook last week: "I will be making a major announcement on IMPACT tomorrow (8/7c) This will change everything for our wrestlers, company, & YOU our audience!" This was my reaction Why? Because every other "Major Announcement" has been a waste of all our time. While all those announcements might have been a step in the right direction for the company, very few have been life altering events for a TNA fan. At least that's how it's pimped to us. I think it's great that TNA is going on the road from now on. But all they really had to do to get my & everyone else's attention was to have Dixie come out onto the stage during the show, have the announcers act like this was not planned and have no idea why she is out there. Then have her apologize for interrupting the show, and then make the announcement. Hell most people might have had the same kind of reaction they had when they announced Kurt Angle had signed.......ok not that big, but you get my point.
