What a shame. I really was looking forward to Pettis/Aldo.

Wish Maia and Koscheck was still happening
Anyways the card is tommorow, anyone else think Zombie has a chance?

^ not really, but you never know. I think the longer the fight goes, the better his chances will be... Aldo has been known to fade in the later/last round. So if Zombie can make it into the 4th and 5th, things could get interesting.
A bit disappointed in this card - still, hopefully it will turn out to be one of those shows that look pretty average on paper but turns out to be awesome.

Wow. Call me a Machida fanboy, but that was a BS decision.

Anyways, on to the main event. I will definitely re-watch Machida/Davis tomorrow though.

So apparently Aldo broke his foot in the first round.

My God, that decision in the Machida/Davis fight was horrendous. At no point was Davis anywhere close to winning that fight. Sure he scored those two takedowns, but that's it. He didn't do anything other than that and yet he walks out with the hands-down unanimous decision?? WTF??
I cannot trust the judges after that. That was THE worst decision of all-time.

^ I don't know about all-time but yeah, it was pretty bad! I had Machida winning all three rounds... fairly comfortably too. It was a fairly uneventful fight though... pretty disappointing show all-round I thought.

Must've been a totally different fight than the one we watched because I agree with you, Machida won all 3 rounds, hands-down. Watch it come out that they read the wrong score cards again and Machida ends up the rightful winner. Haha. These judges are ruining the sport. After that highway robbery I witnessed tonight, I just can't trust them. Those judges that were used tonight should be banned forever from judging any MMA fight ever again. They were that bad and I'm sure Dana White would agree.

Phil Davis is painfully boring to watch, he lost 13 of the 15 mins of that fight as Machida landed the much better strikes and stuffed about 8 TD's.
Phil Davis got 2 TD's and a couples of Knees in and won a decision. UFC as an whole hasn't been that entertaining recently.
The TD is getting scored to highly, Machida actually got no points for stopping numerous TD attempts of Davis yet Davis scores just 2 TD's, doesn't do that much damage after he gets them and wins the fight. Horrible decision.

I don't care if Phil Davis won that decision. He certainly does NOT deserve to be ranked above Machida as he clearly did not win that fight. Not in my eyes anyway.
Since Machida took a back-step to fight Davis after beating Hendo, I think Davis should do the same. I'd like to see Phil Davis fight Hendo. I don't care what anyone says, even though he stole that decision due to horrible judging, he is not the #1 contender. Not even close.
I think Dana White should get together with Joe Silva and either set up a rematch or a fight with Hendo.

The great thing about the UFC is that although the records of the fighters might say that Phil Davis won and Machida lost, there is nothing stopping the UFC from saying, "Well screw those judges."
And the media can still rank Machida ahead of Davis (and probably will) as well.

Once I heard the 29-28 scorecard I had a feeling the decision was going to Phil Davis. I personally scored it 30-27, but figured if the judges gave Davis any round it'd be the 2nd since he finished it strong. Poor decision but I've seen worse.

I think the UFC agree - they've said if Glover Teixeira beats Ryan Bader, he'll be the #1 contender/next challenger. Sounds like a good move. And I'd still like to see Jones Vs Hendo some time...
