I clearly recall Mattel saying once that they would treat SDCC more like a big deal than Toy Fair. So why does everyone get shocked? Because people are impatient & don't listen. And the Q&A always takes a few days.

It's Rock, I just got that same Rumbler at Target with Cena the other day. This set is out? Yes, found it at Target in Illinois last week unexpectedly. Love the Rock Rumbler.

The first Toy Fair Mattel had the license, all they showed were a few Legends during a press conference and that was their first year! SDCC is definitely their big show as far as WWE. It's better in a way because they get more attention and non-press/website geeks can see the stuff in person.

You know, you designers at Mattel should try to put together a little one-off magazine for RSC that catalogs all the releases thus far, any cool stories about meeting the Superstars, a "How We Do It" feature, as well as a gallery of unused concepts/prototypes that we've never seen before. I'd pay $10-12 for something like that.

I wasn't expecting much, but I figured we'd at least see some announced things not yet shown, or further progress on some protos shown at RSF.
Oh well, between Funko, NECA, and Mattel's Watchmen and 60s Batman lines, I'm pleased with the day.

That would be pretty awesome. I'm curious to see if we'll get any supporting characters (or Minutemen) next year, or if it will just be the 6 main characters. Either way, I will own whatever they release in the line.

Here's the story on Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was scheduled to be released in wave 30. This was planned back in the early fall right after we scanned Kaitlyn, and we got great expressions off her. She was also one of the coolest people we talked to that day so we made a point to include her in the line, even though at that point she really did not have the TV time to warrant it ( ironically this was the night she accidentally won the number one contenders battle royale for Night of Champions that she was later screwed out of, setting off her rise to the Divas title),The outfit would have been the older style outfit with the short shorts and sports bra style top. ( it was to be blue with pink highlights to satisfy any curiosity). We had a new torso and legs sculpted to accentuate the fact that she was strong had strong legs from her days as a power lifter. Unfortunately when we got the first molded sample back from there was an error and the new parts were molded at a size much smaller than intended. The figure was actually smaller and skinnier than the AJ figure. There was no way to remold this figure at the proper size to keep schedule. Since she changed outfits in the interim we tried looking at using the old Mickie James body mold but since she was also short this did not solve the problem. We were in a tight spot and made the call to pull Kaitlyn from the lineup and rework her for release later in the year. The upside is that this allows us to resculpt her and capture her more updated look. The real downside is that we will not have the figure out soon while she is still Divas champion ( unless she holds it for a couple more months) This change took place so late that we were just able to pull it off this week before the Chinese New Year break, (two weeks off, similar to Christmas Break in the US). We needed to fill the slot with the most relevant diva that we had existing tooling on. Unfortunately with the recent loss of so many divas from the WWE roster it was slim pickings, which is why AJ gets another figure (Layla was considered but her existing hair sculpt does not match, sculpts for other possible divas would not be ready in time)The change was made so late that lineup list we give to our retailers would still have the Kaitlyn listed as it was on the RSC site. I hope this answers any possible questions about this. Kaitlyn is coming! We promise. Just not in Wave 30. Mickie James is 5'4" and Kaitlyn is 5'6".....that's only 2 inches in height difference. I feel like the Mickie James body could have worked with an extra rubber top like Layla's figure had on....plus Kaitlyn's hair bump would have given off the impression that the figure was taller anyway. I feel like it could have worked, especially for her first figure and it being in the Basic line.....people didn't have any issues with Basic 24 AJ and that figure is so void of any detail it's almost a crime to charge money for it....but people understood it's her first figure and in the Basic line. People would have understood if the first Basic Kaitlyn wasn't perfect just to have her.

yeh....and tho the attire on the basic 24 AJ sucked...she had a necklace, bracelets, an ok scan and a unique body mold.
she's the tiniest figure ever. Her arm is literally about a toothpick and a half

How did Mattel already produce a Rock brawling buddy with the championship belt on it? It's not an accessory it looks like its part of the print. I mean rock only won the belt 3 weeks ago.

He's never held the World Heavyweight Title. Same title, different name. They don't have the same lineage. The current one starts with HHH. Even if it is correct to give him the WCW title, his attire, hair/beard and tattoos are all wrong for the era in which he held the title.
