It has been a tradition for them to hold every tenth WM at Madison square garden but sadly that tradition has ended. I was hoping this would continue but it was announced that WM 30 will be held in New Orleans. Thoughts?

WrestleMania needs to be in stadiums now. Arenas don't cut it anymore as the magnitude of this event has increased over the years.
If WWE really cared about tradition, they would have 29 somewhere else and 30 would be in New York (Yankee Stadium or Citi Field).

I am absolutely stoked. It's the closest it's ever going to get to coming to me and thus it is my first time where going is a real possibility. I am beyond excited that I know I'll finally have the opportunity to experience WM live after being a wrestling fan for 26 years. If it were at MSG, while I could travel there, the odds of me getting to go are way less likely.

Things outgrow tradition. Wrestlemania is too big for arenas, plain and simple. The demand is too high, the profit margin is too big, and the positive press they get from bringing in a ton of money to the host city is far too important to uphold the tradition of going to Madison Square Garden, plain and simple.
Business almost always wins out over tradition, and in this case, it absolutely should. Wrestlemania is a stadium show.

Having WrestleMania XXIX in some other city (Toronto, perhaps?) and WrestleMania XXX at Yankee Stadium/Citi Field would've been a better way to go. Think about it. Having the 30th annual WrestleMania in a New York City stadium will still uphold tradition, but also show how far WWE has come from a closed-circuit event with 10,000-plus fans in attendance into a worldwide phenomenon with 70,000-plus people from around the world.

If you haven't been to New Orleans, its really a different type of place. I recommend visiting at least once before your days are up. Food is great, night life is fun, and its not too big, so depending on where you stay, you can walk to wherever you want to go.

Lights could potentially go out and this time it won't be the undertaker.
