I searched and didn't find this posted. This is from the Sears Wish book in 1987. Notice the Kamala, Adonis and Koko prototypes. Also, check out the close up of Hogan with the Hulkster on the headband, although it looks to be Photoshopped, or however it was done in 1987!

I have one of these catalogs somewhere, but I've never seen this scanned and posted. It's nice to see those prototypes from different angles.

I love looking through these old catalogs, checking out the toys from when I was a kid. I also like that Adrian Adonis prototype a lot better than the one they actually produced.

Thanks for sharing htis. FUnny they chose to focus on Adrian Addonis. Yeah he was long gone by Christmas time and Arcidi had to be gone for a year with Funk being gone for even longer. I guess it was a case of showcasing some new figures while also trying to get rid of old stock. Orton, Fuji, Gene and Arcidi were available through the ringside collectibles ad and still found in stores after that. With Hogan, Macho, Elizabeth and Jake who were also on ringside ads (I always wonder if they were from the LJN catalog like the new 1988 grouping photo was) but also they were very Weird they would put the writing on the Hulk bandana because it popular. Weird they would put the writing on the bandana because it looks strange, obviously doctored, and the actual figure that had been out for years didn't have it. I hope it didn't get kids having their parents ordering a Hulk toy or searching the stores for something new. |

I really wish LJN would've released Adonis with the boas. I wonder why they made the change to go without. I don't think we will ever know the answer to that one.
