I just started trying my own casts and molds. I used Castin' Craft Mold Builder to make the molds. I works okay, but you have to apply many coats before the mold is finished. A friend told me to try a putty instead, so I might try that too. And, for the casts themselves, I used a 2-part resin called EasyCast. You mix half resin and half hardener and stir it up as per the directions and pour it into the mold. Depending on the size of the mold, let it dry for 24-72 hours before removing from the mold.
I casted the plates for the new WWE Title. The detail was picked up nicely, but the corners and edges of the plates look pretty rough because of how small the pieces themselves are. This also only took about 18 hours to dry because of how small it was. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.
