Sad to see Thomas lose in the first round but I don't mind letting Ace go over me. Hopefully O'Reily can make some headway in the tourny, but I believe that Riley can make a run through to the finals.

Liking this so far Jack. Good choices so far. I agree with Ace, would like to see some smaller names get a good tun (not at the expense of Dragon.) Can see Kineval winning his match, however not Ashdown. Good layout and the right amount of detail. Only thing Id say is the lack of matches, I'd be disapointed if I showed upto an event and there was only 4 matches. What about non-tourney matches, it'd go against the format but it'd work. Good luck and keep this up.

Very happy to see Reid pick up the victory, but there's some really tough competition in the second round. I'm really enjoying your approach to this, I definitely look forward to reading more.

[Show 3 of 10] [First Round Matchups] [March 16th, 2013]
Davis Salton opens up Born to Battle once again, welcoming the live crowd to the third Born to Battle show, featuring four first round match-ups. Before Davis can say anymore, Hunter Kellen’s music hits and he surprisingly makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand, even though he’s not scheduled to compete tonight. Kellen informs us that he feels insulted that he had to face a woman two weeks ago in his first round match up. Hunter expresses that he feels that people are just trying to make a joke out of him and he’s not going to stand for it. Kellen says that he’s going to prove his own worth before those higher up try to make a mockery of him, so he’s issuing an open challenge tonight to anyone in the tournament that is willing to face him.
Connor O’Reily def. Donnie East to advance to Round 2 A fantastic way to open up the show as the enigmatic Connor O’Reily was to face Donnie East, who spat on Connor prior to the match, garnering lots of heat as O’Reily had excited the crowd and managed to get over, just from his entrance. Connor showcased his chain wrestling skillset in this match, wowing those in attendance as East’s attitude continued to progress him further out of favour with the crowd. Donnie repeatedly stomped on Connor towards the end of the bout, before taunting the crowd, but O’Reily rolled East up for the two count. East scrambled back to his feet only to be met with a kick to the gut and nailed with Jack’D Up. Connor could have gotten the pinfall there, but he clearly wanted to throw in something for the crowd, going up top for an Imploding 450 Splash he calls ‘Sniper’ to advance.
Chris Hammers def. Bork Laser to advance to Round 2 This was no challenge for Hammers, as he faced off against parody wrestler ‘Bork Laser’ who was clearly dying to be Brock Lesnar, except he was lacking the brute force… and everything else. Laser attempted to look intimidating but only managed to lift Hammers onto his shoulders during the match, failing to pull off the ‘F-6’ as Hammers slid down his back and beat down Bork. Chris must have felt as if he was having a night off here, as the world traveler had faced and defeated many opponents across the globe superior to ‘Bork Laser’. The end of the match saw Hammers drop Laser with a devastating ‘Last Minute Orders’ to pick up the victory.
Hunter Kellen def. Red Dragon Kellen made his way back out to the ring for his open challenge, to be welcomed by Red Dragon, the Masked Hero, also through to Round 2 of the tournament. Dragon and Kellen both felt that they needed to prove themselves here, facing inferior opponents in the first round and so both put up a strong fight. The crowd got right behind Dragon, who surprised Kellen by taking the upperhand for the first half of the bout, delivering countless kicks to Hunter, who must have been aching after the match. The go home sequence saw Dragon lock in the Welsh Death Lock, only for Kellen to reach the ropes. Dragon ran at Hunter, but Kellen pulled down the top rope, sending Red to the outside but only for a moment as Dragon was back on the apron, and in an outstanding feat, launched himself over the top rope with a flying shoulder tackle. Dragon hoisted Kellen up for the Red Dragon Driver, though he slipped away and backed into a corner. Hunter then dodged the oncoming attack and maneuvered Red Dragon into a sick Bless the Fall to win his own open challenge.
Mike Bockwinkel def. Franky Emerald to advance to Round 2 Prior to this one, Bock made the statement that he didn’t need the prize money from the tournament, as his families wealth could pay for this entire tournament alone, but that when he wins he won’t put the money towards a charity, or help a starving wrestling company but thinks he might buy himself a new car to sit in the garage and look pretty next to his other nine cars. Franky Emerald hit the ring to face Bockwinkel but the fact of the matter is, he was dominated. Emerald found it difficult to even get a bsingle move on Mike and after a short while a Superkick was followed by a Piledriver and then a Package Piledriver by the name of Bockwinkel Special: Championship Edition, to secure the win and put Emerald out of the running.
Prior to the main event between Zeke Walker and Silas McGahee, Davis Salton announced that card for the fourth and final first round show, in a weeks time, featuring: Sam Kineval vs. Zack Star Gareth Ashdown vs. Riley Shamrock Adam King vs. Daniel Bundy Cally Alderson vs. X Matt
Zeke Walker def. Silas McGahee to advance to Round 2 ‘Golden’ Zeke Walker had an uphill battle to climb here, taking on Silas McGahee, the Badass Powerhouse, who looked ready to rip Zeke apart at any given moment. Silas blocked many of Zeke’s aerial attacks off the springboard, dropkicks and crossbodys, frequently downing Walker with a variation of brutal slams to the canvas. Zeke did begin to mount a comeback, with a dropkick to the back of McGahee’s calf, sending him down to one knee before deliver the DD-Zeke, usually a finishing move of Zeke’s but to many people’s surprise Silas kicked out at one! Zeke worked extremely hard but eventually McGahee downed him with the Into the Dirt Driver. Silas covered and many saw it was over but Walker kicked out! McGahee was full of rage, unsure how to keep the lively underdog down though Walker was fast the counter the pace of the match, jumping free of another Into the Dirt Driver and connecting with the Trance-Out. Zeke continued his offence with a hard Frog Splash followed by the Zeke driver, but he did not cover, lifting Silas up for a second Zeke Driver, before he covered and won the match.

The more known names in O'Reilly, Hammers and Bockwinkel getting wins is pretty understandible, and I can't argue saying the wrong guy won, quite surprised with myself winning as McGahee has been popping up doing quite well recently. Shock of the night has got to be Red Dragon losing to Hunter Kellen.
Next show I see the following winning: Sam Kineval Gareth Ashdown Daniel Bundy X Matt

[Show 4 of 10] [First Round Matchups] [March 23rd, 2013]
Davis Salton welcomes the live crowd to the fourth Born to Battle Show, he announces the night’s card and reminds those in attendance that tonight we will see the last of the first round matches. He also announces a thrilling main event to end the first round which will see Ace Bennett, Connor O’Reily and Jack Joseph face Mike Bockwinkel, Shane McCorven and Chris Hammers!
Sam Kineval def. Zack Star to advance to round 2 A decent match to kick of the four night of Born to Battle bouts. Star looked like he was having fun out there, much to Kineval’s dismay as the aggressive character was very serious about his business, while Zack Star played the crowd and in turn riled up Sam, which was probably not a wise idea. Kineval was focused though and Star’s antics were not going to stop him from getting as far in this tournament as possibly as Zack was nailed with the Chaos Death Shot and Kineval advanced.
Adam King def. Daniel Bundy to advance to round 2 You could tell that Bundy was a sick individual through the way he was looking at the women in attendance and King was just as disgusted which made the outcome of this match relieving to the audience, to say the least. Those in attendance were unfamiliar in terms of both competitors, but Bundy shun through as a potentially strong heel, no matter how sick he may have seemed. Despite this, King’s technical ability was far too much for Bundy as he dodged the Deadly Mambo and nailed a gutwrench powerbomb. This was swiftly followed up with a Cradle Piledriver called Monarchy and the locking in of the King Crab, to which Bundy tapped out.
Riley Shamrock def. Gareth Ashdown to advance to round 2 Two young bucks went at it here in a first round match in which a win could send a lot of needed attention their way, not being the favourites to win the tournament. The two put on an entertaining match for those in attendance and could possibly make a slick tag team in the future. A fast-paced technical encounter here and the battle seemed to go on for a while and looked as if it could really go either way. Gareth nailed a sick Infamous, and the end of the match was in sight but Shamrock rolled to the outside after the devastating the manoeuvre and after Gareth got him back in the ring, he could only garner a two count. Gareth tried to set up for a second Infamous; Shamrock rolled down his back and twisted Ashdown round, hoisting him for the Generation Driver for the victory.
Cally Alderson def. X Matt to advance to round 2 A match which say the debut of a fairly unknown rising star in Cally Alderson, who surprised many in this appearance again Jack Joseph’s younger brother X Matt. Matt has never really broken through or come near to the success of his brother, so he was looking to make a name for himself in this tournament. Both men were quick and flying around the ring, though Alderson was focused and seemed to be one step ahead of Matt and in the end X Matt attempted ‘The X’ but Cally caught him on his shoulders and threw him into the turnbuckle, nailing a Tornado DDT and finally a Diving Senton, to win.
Prior to the main event, Davis Salton re-appeared to announce the matches for Round 2: Ace Bennett vs. Connor O’Reilly Mike Bockwinkel vs. Cain Jackal Justin Tyger vs. Chris Hammers Zeke Walker vs. Hunter Kellen Red Dragon vs. Sam Kineval Jack Joseph vs. Riley Shamrock Elliot Reid vs. Adam King Shane McCorven vs. Cally Alderson
Ace Bennett, Connor O’Reilly and Jack Joseph def. Mike Bockwinkel, Chris Hammers and Shane McCorven via DQ The crowd were fired up for this main event, featuring some of the stars of the tournament thus far, each making it through to the second round. The face worked over the heels early, making frequent tags whilst beating down McCorven, though the pace slowed and the heels took over for the next half of the bout. Bennett, O’Reilly and Joseph are clear fan favourites and those in attendance despise Mike Bockwinkel. The finish to this match was crazy as O’Reilly hit Bockwinkel with Jack’D Up and covered only for McCorven to jump in and batter Reilly with the Crippling. Joseph made a swift entrance, downing Shane with a Pele Kick before Hammers hoisted Jack up and dropped him with the Last Minute Orders. Bennett pulled Hammers into the Syracuse lock but Bockwinkel ran through and nailed Ace with a chair to cause a DQ.
Following the match, the brawl continued, with McCorven and Joseph battling through the stands and O’Reilly fighting Hammers on the outside. Bock beat down Ace, but Bennett started to gain the upperhand and hit numerous attacks in the corner before hoisting him onto the top rope, Ace looked for a Syracuse Drop but out of nowhere Connor O’Reilly clambered up and pulled Bennett from the top rope. Connor then proceeded to drag Bennett into another corner and connect with ‘Sniper’ an Imploding 450 Splash on Ace, before standing tall over his round 2 opponent, leaving the crowd in shock and the next round full of suspense.

Round 2 is going to be so good. I can't wait. I feel like this was the weakest group of Round 1 matches, and think maybe you could've swapped around the order a little bit so you could have a couple stronger matches on each show. O'Reily getting the best of Ace here was really cool, nice to see that get built up. Hoping Ace comes out on top of course, but some upsets elsewhere would be cool. I think the winner of McCorven/Anderson would be a good candidate for that, or even Shamrock for that matter. Keep it up.

[Show 5 of 10] [Second Round Matchups] [March 30th 2013]
Davis Salton opens the fifth Born to Battle show, showcasing four Round of 16 Match-Ups. He announces that tonight the live crowd will witness Justin Tyger vs. Chris Hammers, Elliot Reid vs. Adam King, Mike Bockwinkel vs. Cain Jackal and Sam Kineval vs. Red Dragon. As this is announced, Kineval’s music hits and he walks down to the ring holding his head in the air, in a cocky manner. Sam Kineval snatched Davis’ mic and says that he wants to let his brother know a little something. Kineval says that Dragon has been leaving voicemails, tweets and emails, wishing him luck in their match tonight. Sam stated that he was insulted and doesn’t need this ‘luck’. Kineval reveals that he knows that he is the better wrestler, better brother and better person. Kineval says that Dragon’s success in wrestling is up and it’s time to make room for the real ‘Hero’. Dragon made his way out to applause. Red tells Kineval that he knew this would happen and that the tournament has gotten into his head. Dragon says that he’s going to knock the thoughts out of Kineval’s head tonight, just like he’s going to knock him out of the tournament. Davis Salton interrupts, announcing that he has just been informed that tonight Dragon and Kineval will compete in a Falls Count Anywhere Match! Both brothers keep eye contact until Dragon goes to the back.
Justin Tyger def. Chris Hammers to advance to the Quarter Finals A great opening contest to the second round of the Born to Battle tournament. Tyger and Hammers went back and forth throughout the bout, garnering support from the fans for their technical abilities and advance wrestling on the whole. The match was very close up until the end, with both men kicking out of strong slams. The go-home sequence saw Tyger on the up as he delivered a Tyger Driver ’08 and signaled the end of the match, Hammers quickly avoided the Northern Lights Bomb and rolled up Tyger, for just a two before hitting Justin with a running knee. Hammers folded Justin into a Texas Cloverleaf and Tyger struggled towards the ropes, making it after a period of agony. Tyger was quick to respond, locking in a Texas Cloverleaf of his own, the Tennessee Irisleaf. Hammers, much like Tyger had a minute prior, was now fighting for his life in this tournament, as he just about made it to the ropes. Tyger released early, to the surprise of Hammers, who slowly got to his feet, giving Justin time to prepare for the Northern Lights Bomb, which finished Hammers.
Mike Bockwinkel def. Cain Jackal to advance to the Quarter Finals As much as the last match was technical, this one was brutal. These two men are hard hitters and will do just about anything to win. This one was just about as physical as you could get without going under the ring to pick up a steel chair. You can see from this round, that those left in this tournament, really want to win it as thing have seem to have gone up a notch in round 2. Jackal had the crowd behind him as he faced arguably the biggest villain in the company, who has already stated the money means nothing to him, he just wants to beat the hell out of as many people as possible. This match began to get interesting as Bockwinkel went up top for a Superplex, which was quickly countered by Jackal who used raw power and strength to connect with a top rope Spinebuster. The crowd was in awe, and even more so when Bockwinkel managed to kick out. Jackal began to taunt the spear, as Bockwinkel got to his feet. Mike dodged the attempt, and directed Cain into the turnbuckle, followed up by a superkick to Jackal as he turned around. Bock aggressively hoisted Cain for the Bockwinkel Special, but a foot on the rope prevented the three count. Mike seemed to see red as a disgusting smile spread across his face and Bockwinkel pulled Jackal into the center of the ring and hit a Bockwinkel Special: Championship Edition, silencing the arena after a load gasp and putting Bockwinkel through to the quarters.
Elliot Reid def. Adam King to advance to the Quarter Finals After two tournament favorites had advanced, it was time for a couple underdog’s to go at it. This match was a delight to watch, but in some ways calmed the crowd from the physicality of the match prior. Reid and King both needed to prove themselves in some way during this match, to get the crowd behind them incase they come up against stiff opposition in the rounds to come. King attempted to keep Reid grounded, countering his high flying offense with a technical moveset, which included many armdrags and holds. King nailed a belly to belly suplex and proceeded to lock in the King Crab, a modified Texas Cloverleaf. Elliot was hurting but was able to bare the pain enough to break free of the hold and down Adam with a Superkick. This was quickly followed up with Ell-evation, into the gut of Adam King, to put him down for the three
Prior to the main event match between Red Dragon and Sam Kineval, Davis Salton made his way out to announce the card for Show 6:
Jack Joseph vs. Riley Shamrock Shane McCorven vs. Cally Alderson Zeke Walker vs. Hunter Kellen Ace Bennett vs. Connor O’Reilly
Falls Count Anywhere Match Sam Kineval def. Red Dragon to advance to the quarter finals The two brothers stood face to face to start this match, which turned into an all-out brawl after Kineval delivered an open hand slap to the face of Dragon in the first few seconds of the bout. Both brothers were able to bounce around the ring, demonstrating their great agility as they’d hit off move after move, in this back and forth battle. Kineval attempted to go up top for a Welcome to Kineville, but Dragon leaped up and pushed Sam, who spilled to the outside. Kineval began to get to his feet but was swiftly take out again by Dragon, who connected with a diving clothesline off the apron. With no countouts, the rest of this match pretty much went ahead on the outside, with Kineval repeatedly slamming his brother into the steel guard rails, eventually splitting Dragon open. Dragon countered a Chaos Death Shot, keeping to his feet as Kineval hit against the ground and locked in a Welsh Death Lock. With no way to break the hold, Kineval seemed done for but was able to slip out and hit Dragon’s head once again against the guard rail. Sam capitalized with a Chaos Death Shot but only was able to garner a two count, surprising those in attendance as is seemed sure that Dragon was out of it. Bleeding from the head and severely hurting, there was nothing Red could do when Same clambered onto the ring apron and nailed a Welcome to Kineval-ville Motherf*cker, to conquer his brother.

Good show man. Tyger over Hammers was alright, I feel like both men deserved one more win and the Hammers character is really underrated, by myself included. I could see Tyger winning again. Bockwinkel over Jackal was a bit disappointing, Jackal seems to get the short end of the stick a lot and Bock is always at the top though, so I guess it makes sense. Could see Bock making it to the finals or semis. Reid over King is showing the interesting way you are doing the bracket. Wish you'd have some uneven matches like a Tyger vs. a King going to the underdog and having a big name drop early. Kineval over Dragon is good, first really big name to lose in the tournament. I don't see Kineval going too much farther for some reason though. Excited for the next show, hoping to see Ace pull off three more victories and taking the baby home.

Haven't replied to this for a few shows. Hope Conor does well. Bork Laser FTW, Hammers needed to win like he did. Liking the addition of non tourney action. Suprised at Dragon losing to Kellen though. Bock could be going all the way. Maybe would have liked to see Silas pull an underdog win. Great to see Kineval advance, never saw Gareth winning but I like Shamrock. Bundy might have been a fun character to advance. I fully expect Cally and King to be taken out in the next round. Tyger/Hammers is far too good to open, could have gone either way, can see Tyger at lease making final 4. Bock winning was the right call but Jackal could have had an easier oppenent. Would be good to see Reid win but dunno if he will again. Really happy with Sam going over Red, its a shocker but a good one. That's as long as Sam gets a decent run otherwise it will be all for nothing. Please keep this up Jack, its a great read and I want to see the rest of your booking. Good luck.
