Yeah, I had a suspicion that was the reason they didn't unveil Elite 22 at Toy Fair. WWE has an article talking about the development of the new title and how it's been in the works for over a year. They're pretty good about giving Mattel access to the roster and props, so I wouldn't doubt it. Plus having it come with the Rock is just another way to put it over with the fans.

That would be the only reason I would buy another elite Rock so quickly on the heels of E14 & E16. It'd be cool if they did that. I still think Punk got screwed on the belt situation, as the new belt should have been unveiled when he passed Cena's mark or hit the 400 day mark. Why they did it w/ the Rock, who has wrestled a grand total of 4 matches in almost 9 years, is beyond me. Would it really have made sense for CM Punk's character to debut a WWE Title with a huge ass WWE logo right in the middle of it? No. He carried around the Spinner because he won it, but if CM Punk's character was to introduce a new title, it would not be one like the new belt. CM Punk's character is booked as anti-establishment, and a person who is constantly at odds with the authority figures such as Vickie Guerrero, AJ when the was GM, Triple H as COO and Vince McMahon as the Chairman of WWE..... Again, it would have been RIDICULOUS if CM Punk was the one to debut the ostentatious new WWE Title with the giant WWE logo. Great point. Punk's the guy who threw his newly won WWE title into the refrigerator the night he won it... I bought The Rock Elite 16 because it was on sale at K Mart for $11.46, not a big fan of the sculpt. Let's hope for something better this time...

Considering the fact that WWE already has the replicas out, it wouldn't surprise me. They've obviously had the belt ready for a while, and wanted to have a big roll-out. Make sense to think that they would have gotten Mattel involved.

The only reasons it could be possible is because Mattel somehow pumped out the kids tag titles very soon after their debut. And, this design has been in the works for a long, long time so it's possible that WWE handed over the design some time ago. I mean you can already order replicas so WWE definitely did get the design out to some merchandise producers. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it in E22.

"sooner than you think" means it will be out by the holiday season this year....because most of us think it takes Mattel a year to get out new stuff.

I wouldn't expect it, but I suppose it's possible if they have had it made. Mattel did have a heads up about the copper tag titles - they released the kid version of that belt merely a few months after it debuted. It took us awhile to get the figure version, though.

The question was when we would get the new title in figure form AND kid's belt. If anyone remembers, they had the new Tag belt about a month and a half after they debuted it. "Sooner than you think" is probably referring to the Kid's belt.

I still think it's screwy that they let Rock do it though.

I don't mind another Rock figure... Always better than having too many Cena's..haha.. So far I have Legends 3 Rock and Elite 14 and 16 Rock... To have this upcoming one with the new WWE title would just be too awesome!

Yeah a year. Just like Lesnar took a year right? I remember alot of people here blasting us for wanting Lesnar quickly. He's been back for 10 months and has 4 figures already.

well,it actually didn't take a year to get Lesnar. he returned at the beginning of last April. and RSC had the figure by early December. so if they WANT to rush out the new Belt,it could potentially be here in around 8 months or so.

I would say that e22 Rock isnt a bad guess. The belt has been made for quite a while, and it seems like this storyline of Rock/Punk has been in the works for months, meaning WWE knew they were changing belts after it went to Rock. This would also explain why we havent seen any protos yet.
All that said, I dont expect it in e22, maybe we see it in a battle pack sooner, but e24 is probably a safe bet.

It would be cool. But I just think it's too early to happen.

The only way for them to have had the belt ready by E22 is that WWE sent them a replica of the belt or pictures in advance so try could start it.
