Hey guys. I saw a post a week or so ago asking what the spam figure belts are like that they offer and how they fit with Mattels. Well i got a batch of these for Christmas and decided to show some pics on both Jakks and Mattel figs and do a review on my thoughts of the belts. I take a look at the: TV, Intercontinental, SOuthern States, NOrtheast, WOrld, Cage, Six man tag, and US belts. Let me know your thoughts: sites.google.com/site/ringskirts/reviews

I had gotten a set of these and painted them. Looked nice. Ended up selling them on eBay. I think they are great for pic fedders not wanting to use iconic belts for there Feds or kids and play.

nice review, couple of follow-up questions though:
Has spam every done the real classic looks? Like the WCW Championship introduced in late '91 or the US or TV titles used in the late 80s?
Is it possible to switch plates onto Mattel straps? And if so, any Mattel straps you'd recommend to hold certain plate shapes?

Not saying this thread doesn't belong here, but aren't these belts actually made by Jakks, not spam? I know spam is the only place you can get them, but the straps are pretty obviously made by Jakks and the plates are done in a style that Jakks would do.

They do however sell NWA and WWE belts that were released in the past (Jakks and Toy biz belts). All of these plates are the same. You may be able to fit them on other Jakks belts but They would probably stretch or rip Mattel straps.

These belts aren't too bad. I actually like the concept behind the "TV Championship."
I highly doubt Mattel will ever allow spam to sell just belts, but I do like the fact that they do have the Jakks ones, and I just ordered a set of Toy Biz TNA/NWA belts earlier this week.
BTW, I notice you mentioned in your review that the old school crowd control barriers are too small. Are they at least as tall as the barriers that came with the Mattel Ringside Battle Playset?
I want to start working on an old school display and I thought about ordering a bunch of these to go around my Classic RSR.

Also they fall down easily unless you modify them.

Thanks for the review and pics. I prefer replicas of the real belts whenever possible, but some of those belts you showed look pretty good. I really liked the Southern Championship belt design.

OH i completely agree. I would prefer actual versions of the belts. Just not a big fan of print out belts.

Yeah i have contemplated getting it. But it's quite expensive. And many of there things are often not in scale as far as there own figures. Wish they would post some comparison pics.
