It has been over 10 years since the Elimination Chamber was created and we have the traditional cage along with the cell so could we ever see a brand new cage style match?

I hope not.
I mean sometimes you get a 1 off, like the EC, or JBL/Big Shows Barbed wire cage match which were/are cool,
but then you get crap like Punjabi Prison, which alone sounds absurd, or the cage inside a cage thing.... look at anything WCW done that wasn't traditional cage matches.
EDIT:
I think TNA has done well inventing cage style matches, Ravens House of fun, Lockdown, and the penalty box thing (was when Foley was TNA champ)
all cool matches. IMO.

They played out elimination chamber the extreme rules one could have been way better. Hell in a cell isn't even cool anymore nnobody takes bumps anymore

I would love to see WarGames make it's debut in WWE. Replace the Hell In A Cell PPV with WarGames.

The problem is that the WWE has saturated their current big cage matches so that now they don't have the same effect anymore.
Having a whole PPV centered around the HIAC and EC ruined both matches because we know when they are coming. The shock value was great when we had no clue when those matches were gonna take place. Also having 2 EC matches or 3 crappy HIAC matches in one night is one of the quickest ways to kill off a match's appeal. Same w/ the MITB match. It seems like now a days, the WWE likes to ruin every cool gimmick match they have.
The WWE simply needs to scrap those two s***y PPVs and go back to having them each once a year and at random moments.

The penalty box was actually used in every king of the mountain matches, not just when Foley was champ. It's a fun idea, kinda like a reverse elimination chamber. |

If anything we really only get one decent elimination match a year now. Might as well just do a whole PPV at Survivor Series and then have one "team match" and do it in Wargames. Just imagine Survivor Series featuring Wargames the match beyond. Just sounds awesome. |

I absolutely LOVE the triple cage. Call me cheesy or stupid or whatever you want, but I think it's the coolest cage match ever. I would love to see them bring it back for one match for the World Title.
I would take a traditional WarGames as well. It would work really well for The Shield if they could partner up with one guy like Punk and face Cena, Sheamus, Ryback and Orton.

Came in to post these two things but you took the words right out of my mouth. I like the Triple Cage, but can see its negatives too. War Games is War Games, so that should DEFINITELY come back. The problem now is cage/EC/Cell matches are done so frequently they lose impact, and they throw random people in usually with no feuds, it hurts the match. Remember when Cell matches used to be the be all end all feud ender? Now its "Oh its the October PPV, throw the WWE title match in there" |
