Its still very early before names are gonna seriously start throwing their hats into the election. Im sure people like Biden and Romney will test the waters but the names that Ill look at (and it seems to be more evident) are those that are "quiet" so to speak on the National front. Look at State Governors and Senators.
If I had to make a list of who I *thought* would be in the mix next election Id go with...
-Joe Biden (VPs seem to run a lot so its a good bet)
-Tim Kaine (Seems to be very close to Obama, so chances are he *could* be heavily endorsed by Obama)
-Julian Castro (Probably a long reach on this one since he's just a Mayor but Im not gonna be surprised at all to see a minority in the mix, especially a hispanic one)
-Rick Santorum (I think as of right now, he's probably the top Republican candidate going in.)
-Rick Perry (Like Tim Kaine, I can see the endorsement by a former President (Bush) in helping him with his campaign)
-Jeb Bush (Id say this is my "reach" for the Republican party. I absolutely think Jeb will eventually run for President but I dont think it will be 2016. I think 2020 is much more likely but dont be surprised if he doesnt test the waters to see if there's still "ill feelings" still lingering from W.)

No way Obama would endorse Kaine or anyone over Biden. He might not even endorse Biden, he may just sit out and wait for the nomination process to take place and endorse the winner like George Bush did in 2008.
Dems - Clinton, Biden, Gov. Cuomo, Gov. O'Malley
Reps - Rubio, Ryan, Sen. Paul, Santorum, Perry, Christie
Bachmann or Palin may make a run at it as well.

I didnt technically mean endorse him over Biden...I meant it more as he could have a heavy endorsement from Obama assuming Biden didnt run or dropped out or whatever. Kaine was on Obama's short list of VP candidates in 08 so I would imagine he wouldnt have a problem endorsing him.
It just tends that the next President is never "who you expect" I remember when George H.W. Bush was in office, a lot of people just assumed he would get reelected and then Clinton won. During Clinton's run everything was about Gore but then Bush snuck in and won. After Bush the talk was Hillary, Hillary Hillary then boom, up came Obama with one of the more impressive campaigns Ive seen in my life time. Could one of the bigger names like Biden, Clinton, Romney win? Sure but just by what Ive seen in my 30 years, I feel it will be a name that isnt "known" as of yet.
Of course Im sure Ron Paul and Newt will try to run for the 70th time.

Ron Paul is retired and won't run. His son Rand however is for sure running.
I'd love for Newt to run again because it'd make for some good TV. Not that I want him to win, I just want to watch the absurdity.

If the Republicans nominate somebody who appeals to the right wing Tea Party types they will lose. If they nominate somebody who stands for nothing like Mitt Romney, they will lose. But if they finally get their act together and nominate somebody reasonable, they will have a good chance. I thought McCain was a good choice until he added that doofus dingbat as his VP candidate - she drove me and my vote away - but since then McCain has turned out to be kind of a nut, so maybe we dodged a bullet.
But who knows if they will pull their head out their ass and stop being the stupid party like Bobby Jindal said. I have never voted for a Republican because they always do something to turn me off - I would vote for somebody moderate like Jon Huntsman. I will never vote for someone like Perry or Santorum or Paul Ryan or Rand Paul or Bachmann or Gingrich or Cain or lord love us Donald Trump. If that is the best the GOP can do in 2016, they are gonna lose again.

I honestly think Jeb Bush could be an excellent candidate for the GOP if his last name with Smith or Jones or Johnson. Jeb is much more intelligent the George is/was and he's not cut from the same Republican mold that Regan and Georg H.W. was. Plus Jeb is very popular with Cuban/Hispanic voters which I believe was one thing that has killed the GOP the last few years as they tended to lean towards the Democratic party. Like I said though, his last name is just what's killing him which is why I think 2020 would be the earliest he could make a serious run and by then, it might be too late.

Anyone who doesn't think a republican will win again is crazy. It's all about likeability and the individual candidates. The voting public can be manipulated and issues don't matter. Just look at recent history-Clinton more likable than gore/bush 1 and he wins, W Bush more likeable than Gore and Kerry, Obama more likable than Mccain and Romney.

I definitely see Palin running, but losing. Think Rubio might be a dark horse. Not sure Biden will run, despite general historic precedent. After all, Cheny didn't.

God forbid we have a President that wants to cut military and welfare spending, balance the budget, lower taxes, get our troops home, stop indefinitely detaining and using drone strikes on American citizens and foreign countries, let states legalize marijuana, and audit the Federal Reserve, which is stealing your money every second.
