Holy sh*t. I just got home from work and hopped on the PC and that was the top story on my news page. He was a very big discussion point between me and a professor last semester during my politics class and I always found him an incredibly intriguing fellow despite the fact that he was a vile dictator. That may have been part of why I was so intrigued by him but still this just came out of ing nowhere though. It really does not effect me much more than that though and all of that and such. Haha.

RIP. Some people may not have liked him, but I ask why? Because he wasnt all for United States government? He would call out the United States on subjects he felt weren't right. I applaud the man for not conforming. All he ever did to you was provide you, and me, with cheap oil. Even if you didnt care for him he WAS still a human being. It's always sad to see someone die so young. Maybe because he was a dictator that had a terrible human rights record. People critical of him and his government go missing all the time or are just flat out killed. He fired 18,000 people because they striked. He stole elections. In this last election it was announced that his opponent had won but then magically the next day it is announced Chavez had actually won. The country has one of the worst inflation rates in the world. Dont forget he heavily supported Iran and their nuclear program which is basically a direct threat to the United States and their allies.

Netanyahu said Iran was 5 years away from getting a nuclear weapon in 1992. 21 years later and we are still worried. There is nothing to fear. They are no threat to us or anyone for that matter.

He was my 3rd favorite Chavez behind Julio Cesar (boxer) and Cesar Chavez (activist). They are the only 3 Chavez's I know though.
Oops. Forgot about Julio Cesar's kid the boxer also. I guess that would put him at 4 and not 3.

Yeah it's pretty crazy to see a man become a monster and do unspeakable things. Its scary, it's crazy, it's a total mystery as far as what led them to do what they did. Still though all of those people you mentioned were at one point in time a little baby in the arms of there mothers. They all had the love of a mother and father at one point in time.

i respect hugo for his stance against the usa on their aggressive attitude towards venezuella's oil reserves.
i'm also disheartened by canadian prime minister stephen harper's statements on chavez's death. considering the gov't of venezuella has stated their disapproval.
harper is poison.

There are times when I get upset or mad at someone but that anger usually passes quickly. So I dont have it in me to take joy in someone passing away.
