Hello! Most of you probably don't remember me, with the exception of ICW, Obo and hebtheeagle, if any of those guys are still kicking around. I ran Ring of Poison between 2004-2011, a fed that started out as fantasy booking before developing into a pic fed. I stopped it in November 2011 due to a combination of needing to make some money off my figures, moving into my own place and university work - but I left it with a big bunch of unfinished storylines, and it's been nagging at me for a while. So with it, I'm returning to how it all began (hence, Back to the Future ) and doing a little bit of fantasy booking once again.
What I'll be doing is picking up right where my pic fed left off (The last show, 'Teeth Like God's Shoeshine', is here) but I obviously don't expect you guys to trawl back through seven years of pic fed stuff. So what I'm going to do, for my comeback card - The 7th Anniversary Spectacular, which takes place in kayfabe December 2011 - is post a preview of a match every couple of days, with a little bit of backstory.
Without further ado...
This one's a doozy. The biggest feud in ROP history, stretching out over two years. Things began when Raven, the second ever ROP champion and a true legend of the company, returned and shockingly helped the brash heel champ CM Punk. Things went fine for a few months, with the two terrorizing pretty much the entire roster, but then (as is to be expected with these two) it all went a bit sour.
After Raven's interference almost cost Punk the ROP title one (storyline) year ago at 'Season's Beatings: Sixth Anniversary Spectacular', Punk made it his mission to rid ROP of Raven, and thus the two reignited their almost eternal feud. CM Punk has amassed an army of those who have felt wronged by Raven throughout their careers, including Stevie Richards, Al Snow and Cactus Jack whilst Raven has received help from some of his greatest allies, now united by a bond of respect and mutual hatred for CM Punk, including Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk.
Things all came to a head last month at 'Teeth Like God's Shoeshine' when Punk led his army in a mocking 'This Is Your Life' presentation to Raven that had to be seen to be believed and Raven attacked Punk with a railway spike, an attack so vicious we had to cut the live feed.
There's only one real way to settle a blood feud like this - Loser Leaves Town. And thanks to the respective armies these guys have built up, it only seems fair to put it inside a steel cage - it at least makes things a bit fairer, though no guarantees with the amount of variables included here. At Seventh Anniversary Spectacular, one man will leave victorious and the other will leave... FOREVER~!
