Who is your favorite character? Only pick one so you can really give a good explanation, by all means, give a shout out to other characters but I just really want a good explanation of your favorite.
Mine is Merle Dixon, I absolutely love this guy! Michael Rooker plays the character to perfection and even though I have not read the comics, this is the type of character I was expecting from the programme. The connection that he had with Daryl until Daryl became more humain throughout season 2 and 3 but now that Merle is a key fixture in the prison, his interactions so far have been very entertaining and again, amazing acting.
I still like Daryl but he has lost his badass-ness through out the run but he still has this mystery about him that keeps him entertaing.
Andrew Lincoln is a fantastic actor but I cant understand how he is british when he has such a convincing accent. Anyway, Rick is a very deep charcter who actually has me feeling emotion for him. That only other charcter who does that is Merle but for a different reason. I loved the scene's from last episode where he was with the guy that previously save his life. The only thing that dragged that episode down was Carl.
So... your turn!

I'm assuming Daryl is probably going to be the most popular choice. I've always been partial to Rick. I think his character has changed more than anyone else on the show, and it has been really interesting to see how all of these events have affected him.

IDK, my fave was Shane. Rick killed him and then took his no prisoner attitude with it which I've liked but I hate when he gives stupid ideas a second thought like the Michonne deal, he often does this, aggravating. Carl has been cool this season but before was annoying as all hell. Daryl is always cool but in the background ALOT. Glenn/Maggie...I HATE THEM, so manufactured, kill one pls. Michonne is still bit new to care but has been flawless. Beth is hot, that is all. Merle, Carol, Tyreese, Gov and Milton are ok. ing ing Andrea ing ing die, . Hersh you go die too buddy. #shanewalks

Shane for me. I liked him because whilst he was the closest thing the show had to a 'bad guy', his reasoning was actually justifiable based on the fact that he was all about survival. As we've progressed through the show, we see the group adopt a philosophy more and more like Shane's (e.g. Rick/Carl/Michonne not even having to consider the thought of leaving the hitchhiker to die in the episode last week). I also just thought the whole character was very iconic. He personified Season 2 for me and was definitely the character I most looked forward to seeing on screen, which says a lot for a show with so many great characters.
Close second would be Dale. He was the embodiment of 'moral goodness' in the show and the group seemed to lose a lot of that when he died. I also thought he was the best actor in the show.

Daryl is obviously a bad ass but right now, I'm most interested in Merle every time he's on screen. Rooker knocks it out of the park every time he's on screen and he's got more shades of grey than anyone. Such a great character.

Michonne for both the comics and show. Although she is definitely tied with Daryl for the tv show.

My favourite for a time was Shane. The conviction of Jon Bernthal in everything he did was simply brilliant. Since he died, my favourites are Michonne for her lethality and independence (though her now being part of the group is great) and Herschel, for the rationale and wisdom he brings to the group. Glenn, Maggie, Rick and Daryl are next, so to speak, then Merle, Carl and Carol. The Woodbury residents I don't count.

Rick, (Comic and TV) I like crazy Rick the most but I enjoy seeing people transition and evolve and hes done that a bit more than most I feel. All the women annoy me in the show and I feel some people arent portraying the characters to what they should be (Gov springs to mind on this bit). Its funny the love for Daryl because I always feel watching the show "this dude aint in comics" and it makes me not like him a bit. It happens quite a lot where my opinion on someone in the show is based on what they have done in the comic, like Shane, he was a lot more likeable in the show due to him doing what most people would do but because of the comics I still didnt like him.
