Not even close. I honestly don't see any appeal in the New Generation era outside main events and a few Intercontinental Championship matches. Terrible gimmicks, matches, WWF was getting slaughtered by WCW, and etc. < Anything right now

There's been far, far worse periods before. I don't even think the product is currently bad, honestly.

I don't have interest anymore but I always tune in leading up to WM but it's really a chore at this point. Ill probably tune out after mania and just skim results but I'm not actively seeking anything out.
This is probably about the least interested I've been I'm my 20 years following wrestling

I don't know what's going on. Some people are still enjoying it, so they must be doing something right.
I started watching wrestling in December of 1998. Since then, I've only taken one, what I'd consider to be, "break," That was the better portion of 2008. I remember very little from after Wrestlemania 24 to about Royal Rumble 2009. I was "watching", as in keeping up with things online and fast forwarding through the majority of Raw and Smackdown, but nothing was really sinking in. It was a busy time in my life, too, so that probably had a lot to do with it.
Since then, I've gone through various degrees of really loving and really disliking the product, but I've always been "tuned in" - a loyal viewer of Raw and Smackdown every single week.
I can tell you that I've never been back to that lethargic, lackadaisical state from 2008 until now. I am so thoroughly disappointed with the way they've built Wrestlemania that it almost saddens me to see myself with so little interest in my biggest hobby for the better part of the last fourteen plus years, especially on the road to the biggest event of the year. Truthfully, the only reason I haven't dropped to a routine of fast forwarding and checking results online is because I've graduated from school and am at the point in my life where I come home from work and just want to relax and watch TV. If I were still in college this year, I genuinely think I would have already stopped following the product on a weekly basis.
I often use my friends as gauges on how captivating the product is. My friends are casual wrestling fans. They got into it because I used to watch it at the house. A lot of them were big fans during the Attitude Era, so they usually get excited and watch weekly during Wrestlemania season. I was talking to a couple of them this past weekend and they informed me that they had watched Raw a couple of times in the last two months and they saw absolutely nothing that enticed them. Nothing that left them wanting to tune in next week, or even watch Wrestlemania. That's pretty depressing.
But hey, I'm just one person. I'm not going to pretend like my opinion matters to WWE, and I'm not going to knock the people that still enjoy it. I'm just going to continue to match WWE's lethargy with my own. Hopefully Wrestlemania comes through.

I've slowly but surely been starting to feel the same way...it was around the time they turned Punk heel. After Summerslam last year.
They have been getting utterly unbearable with the social media stuff. So far beyond where it should have been. It is completely obvious that all this company cares about is trying desperately to be socially relevant. Instead of putting out an entertaining product which would MAKE people like it....they try to be the cool guy in the room because they think that is the only way to reach an audience.
Most of their audience are people in their 20's-30's. We don't all live on social media the way they think we do. yet the WWE is trying to appeal to teens. Teens don't = ratings. No one is watching RAW waiting to see their Tout.
Almost everything in the company now is cookie cutter, formula, predictable trash. I spent almost a year TRYING to find the silver lining in all that was going on, but I've run out of patience.
There is very little in the way of character or storyline development anymore. Now it's just one definied role for everyone. Heels are mean guys who talk trash and then just get beat by the faces. Faces are happy-to-be-here guys who won't back down from a fight. Sure We've had a lot of heel champions, but they spend week in and week out getting made to look foolish, losing in pointless matches and then somehow escaping their title match wins.
Now I understand that is all part of wrestling history. You can't be a bad guy without cheating, telling the fans they suck, etc. But literally every single heel is made to look like a genine joke in the SME (social media era) because it's all about "sending the fans home happy" and tweeting.
Look at Triple H....his CAREER was MADE during his dominating heel run. Not only was he one of the top guys, people paid to see him. Because his presentation was that damn good. Cesaro could be a guy like that, yet they stuck him with a going-nowhere gimmick...have not done anything with it in 3 months and he has won about 2 matches since Royal Rumble. Why, as a casual fan or even a semi-regular fan, would I even care about him in a match if it's pretty much a given he's just going to lose.
Why do I care if he even talks trash because the end result is ALWAYS the same. It's just one of many things going wrong, and yet all they care about is Rock, Cena & Lesnar because those are the "mainstream" "pop culture" guys. It's pretty sad to be honest, because thet HAVE the talent and superstars with the abilities to create a whole new kind of era, but all they care about is how many twitter followers The Rock has. Because they are a "Business" and just want to "make money"

So you barely watched any of the show, yet you could tell there was no redeeming qualities? That's pretty impressive.

Some really good points by the members here. I am going to stop watching and enjoy my WWE dvds/blu rays. I loved 80s wrestling and the attitude era, but just can't get into this PG/social media stuff. On a side note though, I do find Brad Maddox to be pretty hilarious. Kind of reminds me of that YouTube video of the really awkward sportscaster calling "boom goes the dynamite" and stumbling through a newscast.

Remember how bad it got in 2006/2007/2008 and everyone was calling it the absolute lowpoint? Well, it got worse. 2005 was the last excellent year of pro wrestling for me.

No I would not say this is a dark age but I can see a bumpy road in 5 years or so. Their dependency on part-timers like HHH, Brock, Rock, and Taker along with their inability to push any new guys is going to bite them in the ass, imo. Seriously if they refuse to put anyone on Cena's pedestal then who will take over?
Their constant mishandling of guys like Ziggler and Cesaro really worries me.

It's getting terrible. Way too many squash matches and just time wasting segments. They showed like 4 million movie trailers during Raw.
That's why I like watching TNA. They have their faults, but at least they still feel like a wrestling show.

Most of the 90s were much worse. And in my opinion Michaels was much better during his second run from 02-10 than he was in the 90s.

Hopefully Wrestlemania comes through. It's incredible how similar this is to me. Even the break and college situation is the same. Frightening. The early 90s has had 15+ years to garner a reputation of being crap. This era will absolutely be looked at as a dark period for wrestling 15 years from now (hopefully!) even the roster now is so much worse than back then. I am at a loss of words for how bad WWE is right now. The product will be justified by some as the main events will be built well. I have no doubt Rock/Cena, Lesnar/HHH and Punk/Taker will be built well come WM. it's a shame to see some of the members of the IWC, like WWE, forget the importance of an undercard. The product right now is actually so bad it's offensive and thank everything that is holy we still have HHH/Heyman/Taker/Punk/Rock. However, I'd say this is the worst period of WWE ever, yes. (Of course ill be referred to some era of which it's reputation precedes it). Halle Berry was featured more on RAW than the WWE Champion. And Cole/Lawler speak in this educational tone reminiscent of a pre-school (Kindergarten) teacher.

I enjoy it more now than ever.. been actively watching for 25 years.. I've been going for about 17 or 18 years and I completely agree. Every year is bad at the current time to people. Always has been that way.

Listen...
I don't care if WWE is rated PG, TV-14, TV MA:LSD or NC-17.
All I care about is a quality product that keeps my interest. WWE has failed to do that lately.
I fast forward through 80% of Raw. I don't even DVR Smackdown or any of the other shows anymore.
This Road to Wrestlemania has been a joke also. Where is the undercard?

I'm enjoying the product for the most part, I watch RAW and hour late to skip the commercials since 3 hours is way to long. '07 was dark, right now the product is fine, just to much of it on TV.

I love most of what's going on. We get good to great matches consistent basis and the roster has a wealth of talent.
However I do agree with the social media and movie crap. It's all such a waste of time.

I have never tuned out of Raw for more then one week. However for the past 2 months I start watching if a segment comes on I don't like I go on the computer and wait. I usually spend over 2 hours of Raw on the computer. Sometimes I'll sit on the computer just listening for an hour-hour and a half straight. I mean its not even just the bad storylines, its the horribly limited move sets. I mean TNA may have some bad storylines ocassionally, however they atleast have ones that are somewhat interesting. That and there matches are longer, never squash matches, entertaining charachters, and they know which wrestlers can go. World Champions that draw and can go. Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Jeff Hardy, Sting, Kurt Angle, all are way more entertaining then John Cena, Randy Orton, and Alberto Del Rio.

That dude has what it takes to be a top five biggest star of this generation.

I honestly think I'm enjoying the WWE more now than I have since early 2010 (excluding MITB-Summerslam 2011, which was awesome). It's not great, and there's a lot of total crapgoing on, but there's some good stuff happening.

2007 was worse. I am actually enjoying Raw more than have done in years.
