I sure as hell hope they don't put out a Punk figure with plain boots, even if it meant we get a shirt or extra accessory. The designs complete the figure.

His attires don't feel... complete anymore. He's only done it as a heel so I think he's doing it as a way of saying that he is too lazy/doesn't feel like the fans deserve him even putting on his kick pad sleeves. For Elites/Basics the only attires I would except from Mattel with the black kick pads are his Orange/Black Halloween one, SummerSlam 2011/Elimination Chamber 2013, Old School Raw Fatal 4-Way, Orange/Blue vs. Kane this past Monday, Basic 24 Attire/ attacking The Rock, and the Basic 18 Attire/ vs Cena for #1 Contendership. Woah, did not realize I would list that many, I collect all Elite Punks regardless so I don't know what I'm rambling on about lol. If they did do the black kickpads punk that better give us the "In Punk We Trust Shirt".

Didn't the first Gabriel have plain black kickpads? Just swap em out with Punk.

Does nobody remember basic 2 and Battlepack 7? Yes, the multiple people in the thread who mentioned them before you remember them.

I am sure Mattel will do this to a number of figures, and I fully expect to not get a shirt either. This will save them money, and it is an easy fix.
Speaking of him not wearing designs due to him being a heel now. Is there some sort of psychology that goes with that. I noticed this myself, that with his heel turn he mostly sticks to black based attire.
Alberto Del Rio is now a face, so he now wears more colorful attire that pops.

Blacks and greys represent a more antagonistic person

leaving the kick pads blank seems like a win for mattel and us it'll save them money aswell as giving us an updated punk. we also might get the knees 2 faces shirt with the extra money saved.

I get what your saying about the extra design completes the figure but considering he doesn't use them anymore (up to now anyway) i'd rather Mattel give us an accurate 2013 Punk at some point. He had kick pad designs at the Rumble so that could be his next 2013 Elite and Basic line could put out atleast one with blank kick pads.

Every figure should be a representation of what we see on television. And if Punk's black kick pads are frequently what we're presented with, then I would hope that Mattel will make a few Punk figures with the black kickers. Even though it is a rather simple fix up.

Mattel loves to put out figures in mostly black, so I bet they can't wait to start pumping out CM Punk's with only black kickers.
