So i went to the very last page of this board, & i saw that alot of people were not a fan of Mattel taking over the WWE license back then in 2010. Many people said they are never gonna buy a Mattel Figure, and keep buying Jakks. Now its 2013& almost everyone i know are collecting Mattel Figures. Tbh, i didn't really like Mattel back then, i was still into Jakks. But when i saw some of Mattel protos i thought they weren't that bad. My first Mattel figure was the E2 Triple H, and that is when i started to get hooked on. So were you a fan of Mattel back then?

Yes. I directly jumped over and realised how much better Mattel is compared to JAKKS. Been a fan ever since.

I was a fan of everything except distribution since the announcement of Mattel taking over. I knew how great they were with the DC license and figured the WWE would be just as impressive. I was just never a fan ofhow the stores distributed their product and figured it would not change.

Never really cared for Jakks. When Mattel came out with theirs I have been collecting ever since. Better body types, better scans, etc. Mattel is way better than Jakks ever was.

Jakks was always great for me. It was a great product and they made great figs but after this stuff like this started to happen I was done. Mattel has done so much better than Jakks in so many different categories.

I was very unhappy with how.Jakks looked near the end, so I instantly.became a fan of Mattel when I first saw the protos.

Everyone had put so much money into their Jakks collection, that I don't think anyone was crazy excited to re-buy a bunch of characters. I think that is where a lot of the negativity about the change stemmed from. Jakks made it a little easier by half-assing the last year or so of their contract.
My initial plan was to only buy a few Mattel figures of guys that I really liked and a few iconic superstars. That didn't last long as I find myself buying way more figures that I had planned. Not as many as I bought in the past, but more than I thought I would.

YES! I was so excited about Mattel! I liked Jakks, but like a lot of comments before this one, I hated how lazy they gottowards the end of their time with WWE action figures. Mattel has hit pretty much every detail and I have been so happy with their products. I will keep supporting Mattel until the very end.

When I first heard Mattel got the license I wasn't happy. I didn't want to start a whole new collection. But then when I saw that first poster with the outline of Triple H I started to get interested. Then I saw the first set of protos and I was hooked.

I agree with all of you Jakks dropped the bomb big time at the end. Like i said i didn't have high hopes on Mattel in the beginning, but damn towards E3 Mattel really had me.

I wasn't at first. I thought the Jakks CS line was the greatest ever produced. Now, after seeing what Mattel has done and comparing Legends and Flashbacks to Classics, there's no comparison.

Not at all. I remember the first time I saw pictures of the Mattel figures was inside a chapters book store while I was going through the pages of some toy magazine. I saw a Matt Hardy figure that was either a basic or maybe a flex force , and I thought it was the biggest piece of garbage I ever saw. I became very anti Mattel after that and refused to collect their WWE line, and never even really bothered to check it out. Then I got wind of the news that they were making a Randy Savage figure and that sparked my interest. Started looking into the Mattel line and saw that the Elite line was actually really good looking. Over the course of the next few years I bought a very small amount of Mattel figures that really appealed to me, that included DM Savage, DM Warrior, SDCC Undertaker, EG Jericho, Legends 4 Warrior, Elite 6 Punk, and Elite 11 Punk. Then around July of last year the flood gates opened for me and I became a full blown Mattel collector... mind you my collection pales in comparison to many of the ones I've seen on here, but it's more than tripled in the last 8 or so months.
I will say though, the one advantage that the Jakks line has over Mattel (and it's quite a large advantage in my opinion) is variety. Between all the obscure old school guys that we saw in Classic Superstars, and all the different outfits and versions of the current roster guys they made, it's not even close. And I know Jakks had been putting out figures for a lot longer than Mattel has so far, but you can still kind of see a pattern and tell that they're not going to give us that much of a variety. Especially when it comes to Legends and old school attires.

I thought Mattel's figures were way better, however on a lot of figures Jacks head scans were a little more detailed

With the news that Jakks was continuing the Classic Line with their Legends line, I had pretty much decided that I would keep going with Jakks and would buy the Mattels that they missed out on (steamboat, Savage etc). Then Jakks fell off the face of the planet with their Legends line, which was more poorly distributed then Mattel figures.....and Mattel pumped out one great Legend after the other so I finally made the jump with both feet.

When it was announced that Mattel would be taking over the WWE line and protos were being released I wasn't too thrilled, because at the time I was still in love with Jakks figures. Mattel's figures towards the beginning just didn't appeal to me at all, I thought they looked nothing like the characters they were portraying. But now that time has passed I can't help but laugh at the Jakks figures and how crappy a lot of them were.
Mattel has been doing a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier with the current product.
