That really sucks that what killed him could have been treated had he known or even done a check up. I think that's the worst way to go, by something that could have been prevented.

Hate to throw this out there, but the dumbest part of you statement is "something that could have been prevented"
Every aspect of death can be prevented, if you think about it.... It was his time, and he was called home.

No one actually dies of old age...It's just problems with organs and such that will kill you become more common as you get older.

The article highlighted a major health consideration, especially for the middle-aged to older crowd. There are many conditions which can mimic the symptoms of a heart ailment, but it's always better to be safe.
You may have had chest tendinitis or esophageal spasms at some point in life, but don't assume that will always account for chest discomfort.
And don't assume that being young and healthy means a heart issue isn't possible. If you have any chest symptoms, get to the doctor ASAP.

i had the exact same surgery as paul bearer had in 2007...gastric bypass surgery. i lost over 200 pounds, i was at my fattest, 6 feet 8, 479lbs. i now weigh 265lbs. my point is, this is a very long term risk surgery...i almost died in january of anemia attributed to my past surgery. due to the malabsorbtion of the surgery, there are may risk factors inluding organ failure.
