WWF Prime Time Wrestling on this day was the go-home show for SSlam 89. This episode included the infamous Piper/Rude pull apart which resulted with Hot Rod costing Rude the IC Belt just a week later.

Also on this date-
WWE Raw 2006:
Lita tossed John Cena's Spinner Championship belt into the Bridgeport Harbor while Edge unveiled his new Rated R Championship belt. Later that night, Edge vs Jeff Hardy ended in a No Contest when John Cena ran in, brawled with Edge all over and out of the arena. Cena then tossed Edge into the harbor.
Vince McMahon told Mick Foley he was going to fire his friend Melina if he didnt join the Kiss My Ass Club. Foley kissed Vince's ass but Melina turned on Foley hitting him with a low blow and screamed "YOURE FIRED!!!!!!!!!"
DX spraypainted Vince McMahon's private jet and Titan Towers. Vince and Shane went inside their limo to leave the building, the rear axle came off when it was attached to a chain. When the McMahons got out of the car, they found DX had spraypainted their limo and Vince snapped and had a breakdown in the parking lot.

Vinny Mac turns 74 Hey! That’s modern news, because it happened now! Now if you said he turned 69 that would have met the criteria of the rules of the Classic board!

Still one of my favorite summer slams of all-time. Would have been epic if they could have done Sarge/Taker/Jake vs. Hogan/Warrior/Macho.
