I have just noticed that Basics are now 11,99 USD and Elites 19,99 USD .
Does anyone know when did they raise prices ? Is it permanent ?

Where are you seeing these prices?
Mattel has said time and time again, their prices on figures are set and that it is the retailers who sell them that set the prices. That is why so many stores charge different prices for the same kind of figure.

Wow, that's unacceptable. Mattel said that it was STORES that were raising the prices on the figures, NOT THEM. So why then on THEIR OWN SITE did they raise the prices on Elites from $14.99-$16.99 all the way to $19.99!!!!!!!!!!!
I will NEVER order from Mattelshop again. That type of price gouging is just simply unacceptable.

Just last week Christian was priced at $16.99. I was thinking about ordering from them too! If the prices increase in stores (I havent seen it yet) than I will limit the amount I buy. And hell I might even give up and buy basics.

Shop mattel is a subsidiary of mattel, most likely independent of the parent company, much like hasbrotoyshop or matty collector.
They set their prices based on msrp but are also subject to the strains of the market. If one of the larger suppliers of mattel products to the market decides to complain that they are being undercut by mattel's own shop, either Mattel can risk losing a customer/retailer, increase the discount to that supplier or they can tell their factory store to raise prices to match.
The easiest is to raise the prices because if say TRU gets a 5% cut in costs, the. Walmart, target or someone else will threaten until they get the same or more.
Which would you choose?
