Anyone remember that mascot they had in WCW at one time cheering on the side of the entrance ramp?
What the hell was that thing supposed to be??

Wildcat Willy. Played by Brady Boone (who also played "Battle Kat") in the WWF.
And I just found this on a Google search: Pretty funny!
Wildcat Willie was the WCW mascot from 1995 to 1999. He'd come out to the ring and dance around in between matches on Monday Nitro and Saturday Night. He was finally fired in 1999 after they realized that fans hated him and had more fun throwing stuff at him than actually watching him.
It isn't actually known who Wildcat Willie was. There is a rumor that Lanny Poffo played the role since he had a WCW contract from 1995 to 1999 and was never seen on television. Nobody has ever confirmed the rumor though.

Wild Cat Willie definitely raided Randy Savage's closet for those outfits he's wearing.

WCW's mascot Wildcat Willie was played by Gary Hedrick, who also played Jeeves (Blue Bloods butler).

I liked Wildcat Willie as 10-11 year old. Was disappointed when he was phased out and by time they brought him back to Nitro in the late 1990s I didn't care. The day before the Superbrawl V in Baltimore Alex Wright and Dave Sullivan were signing autographs at a buffet in town. Outside the place was Wildcat Willie coming out of a limo. I was so excited to get slapped "five" by him and have an autograph. My dad was pretty excited too. Sure some of the kiddie stuff was crap with the crazy gimmicks but those days are so long gone it's kind of disappointing. Those who grew up in the 80s and 90s still have LJNs and Hasbros, tapes and magazines but the good old days, to me and childhood are gone.
