The Yankees bullpen had better get it together. Their bullpen has bled a ton of runs in 4 of the first 5 games here. Nobody on this team can pitch except Andy Pettitte.
Even after Sabathia, Hughes and Nova all sucked and Kuroda got knocked out due to injury, all of those games were winnable if the bullpen didn't implode.
Boone Logan sucks. His only purpose in life is to get out left handed batters and he can't do it.
The Yankees released David Aardsma and Clay Rapada.....maybe the Yankees should think about bringing them back, because Logan and Eppely have been epic failure so far, as I predicted.

on the plus side even with their big offensive players out, the Yankees lineup is stacked
this is the year 2006, right?

you know, for all the crap everyone keeps giving the Yankees... Vernon Wells, Kevin Youkilis & Travis Hafner have been pretty damn solid to start the season. Hafner is batting .313 with a HR Youk is batting .389 with a HR Wells is batting .286 with 2 HR Not bad for a bunch of "old guys who suck and get hurt" Now will it last? probably not, at least at the pace they are on, but EVERYONE is pretty much writing the Yankees off because Tex/Grandy/Arod/Jeter aren't starting. It's all I hear from the sports guys, game commentators, etc. yet without: Tex sucking in April/slow-start A-Rod trying to hit a home run every AB Grandy striking out & Jeter running on a bad ankle they have scored 17 runs in the first 5 games (while htting 6 HR.) Maybe it's just other teams underestimating the lineup because "oh those guys suck, they're all old crapty injury prone players on the decline" or maybe those guys really aren't old crapty broken down players...they are baseball guys who have a decent skill set and something to prove this season. I'm actually looking forward to seeing where this will go.

According to a Yankee beat writer on twitter: R.I.P Joba Chamberlain's mustache 2/13-4/13
Maybe he can start pitching like a big league ball player now.

The Yankees have re-signed Clay Rapada. Smart move considering at the moment Boone Logan couldn't get out my left handed grandmother.

The Yankees have re-signed Clay Rapada. Smart move considering at the moment Boone Logan couldn't get out my left handed grandmother. Yep. If Boone doesn't pitch well he's a goner. Rapada is strictly a LOOGY but he's much better at getting lefties out: Rapada held lefties to a .186/.263/.255 line last season. Logan held lefties to a .231/.293/.372 line last season. That's not awful but Rapada is better at getting lefties out. Once he heals up I'm sure he'll be back in the big league bullpen. Yanks also have Nuno and other lefties down there. I don't really like Boone Logan so *shrugs* whatever.

I really don't see why they let him go in the first place He was injured and was taking up a spot on the 40-man roster. They were probably confident he would clear waivers and, in fact, he did. Yanks know what they're doing.

I'd sign up for 154 more games like the one tonight. I don't need drama. I don't need walk offs. I don't need clutch come from behind wins. Tonight was my kind of game. Just pounding the crap out of the other team from the get go.
Pettitte was awesome again, too.
