I never knew they made Doctor Who figures. I'll have to tell my nephew and coworkers who are big fans. What company made them?

Yeah "Character Options" is a British toy company. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Character_OptionsThere are hundreds of Doctor Who figures, from currant seasons and classic episodes. There are Tardis playsets and all sorts of merch. I have a few figures, including some of the recent Doctors and Companions, and a few Daleks. I'd like to get a few more. My step-dad has a pretty cool collection, about 50 figures I'd say. I think this is a pretty good archive/news/website for looking at figures that have been released. www.doctorwhotoys.net/news.htm

I just started watching Doctor Who (at the request of my wrestling instuctor) on Netflix a few weeks ago and I have to say I think it is awesome.
I am currently waiting for my 10th Doctor figure and Tardis that I scored on ebay and I bought the 9th/10th Doctor's sonic screwdriver at BAM (aka Books-A-Million) over the weekend.
If your looking for Doctor Who merch check out BAM if you have one in your area. They don't carry figures, but they got a lot of the role playing items and other cool stuff like USB Daleks, Tardis keychains, lego type playsets and figures, etc.
There are a lot of cool figures and playsets but finding them at decent prices on ebay is seldom. Not to mention that 95% of them are from UK sellers so there is a mark up. I paid $50 for the 10th Doctor and his particular Flight Control Tardis and that was a bargan. I did read that they are going to be releasing some items to the North American market like figures, vehichles, and the 11 Doctors figure pack so keep an eye out.

Here is my small but awesome collection. I just scored 4 Daleks and Davros a couple days ago on ebay. With any luck I'll be getting them in the mail today.

The next series of figures is a re-scale. 3.75" tall now (about same as Star Wars figures) Absolutely terrible!

I used to buy them when I was younger, but now I keep up to date with news and buy them for my young siblings (although I know that I'm secretly buying the ones that I would have wanted ). About the new scale, I walked into TRU today and saw them for the first time in person, and they are TINY. In my opinion it was an awful decision to change the scale, they were perfect at 5 inch. Also, does anyone else think it's time for them to give the license to another British company? They've been taking multiple steps back for the past few years, e.g. 2010 TARDIS playset, 2nd & 3rd FC TARDIS models. Personally I think it's time another company had a go.

^^ Dude you saw these at a TRU? You must be from another country because I have never seen any Doctor Who figures at a TRU here in the US sans a Sonic Screwdriver here and there. I hope the 3 3/4" scale will give US TRUs more incentive to carry them as they should be cheaper and they will not take up as much shelf space. I prefer the 5" figs but I don't mind the 3 3/4" figs since they'll be compatable with other 3 3/4" figs. With the 50th Anniversary episode coming I hope we get the 10th Doctor and Rose in 3 3/4" scale. Anyway... I went to Philly Comic Con and made a killing on Doctor Who figures since there weren't any WWE, DC, Marvel, etc figs worth purchacing. Too my surpise I didn't see any 11th Doctor figs. I though for sure that I would have been coming home from Comic Con with an 11th Doctor figure. Oh well.

Yes, I am from England. And awesome haul, I'd kill to get my hands on those new without paying a fortune. Especially the 9/10 FC TARDIS. Thankfully I still have my 2006 TARDIS playset (missing a couple of piece though, like the ramp and rectangle to put the doors). I've always wondered, do all of them glow green instead of greeny teal as it is in the actual show, or is mine the wrong colour?

I have the 11th Doctor 2-pack with him in his 11th Hour (so 10th Doctor clothes) attire, and then his iconic bow tie and blazer look. I also have Amy Pond in the police uniform. I have Clara and the Doctor in the 3.75 inch versions. Clara is pretty solid for that size of a figure but the Doctor is pretty awful. The bodies are pretty good on the 3.75 inch figures but the heads are just poorly painted. I was pretty pissed they switched to 3.75 inch figures before we got a Clara. I'll probably grab the newer version of the Cyberman from Nightmare in Silver, but I wanted a larger version of that as well. The switch to 3.75 inch figures was not a good one imo.

Maybe switching to 3 3/4" wasn't the best idea but you have to admit, lack of detail aside, they do know how to launch a 3 3/4" line. 2 Heroes (The Doctor and Clara) 4 army building villans, A vehicle (TARDIS), 2 environment playsets with more on the way.
Compare this to Hasblow's craptastic Spider-Man and Iron Man lines... this is how it's done.

You kind of alienate the collector market but it makes more sense for kids and the mass consumer market to do the 3.75" line. It's cheaper for everyone, consumer and manufacturer alike.

This set of 11 is awesome! Yeah, it's a nice set. It's really affordable too if you are looking to grab every Doctor. EE has it for $90. If comic shops get it for that price, or even a little more, less than $10 a figure is a great price on those imo.
