I think jakks did a better job on this attire lol. Wonder if this figure would of come out better had they not had to rush it do

The way it should have looked on the left, the way it looks on the right:   Just a quick photoshop job I did during the US Title match. Bigger arms and a better paint job on the mask are all thats required. Just because you can do repaints, doesn't mean you should. USE UNIQUE MOLDS, ESPECIALLY FOR AN INTERNET EXCLUSIVE.... Meh, I expected less when I thought of this figure but I didn't think it was going to be that bad. The mask sculpt is incorrect for the time period, the mask needs to be glossed, needs thinner red stripes, the boots are also incorrect and they're not even glossed, the torso and arms are too small and the mesh on the material looks horrible. The belt I could care less about, I could easily fix it. Mattel always does a great job on Kane, I'm disappointed. Overall, Mattel could of easily released this at retail. I truly don't see the reason why this figure is even a RSC EX, I'm only getting it because due to the fact that Mattel probably won't redo this figure in the future. That being said, I prefer the R3.

The RSC mask is terribly painted! It doesn't even match the picture of Kane on the box! That Kane is half assed. Nice photo shop too, would if rather had that one.

I still wanna get it, but it could of been better.
Kane is HUGE, and the figure looks a little too slim for Kane. Especially for that time. He should of had unique molds. I don't really remember him having lace up boots at that time either.
I remember Jakks made a completely unique TTL Kane, and I think it trumps this fig. Also, the RA Classic Superstars Kane that Jakks made in 08 of this attire might be better as well.
However, I really want to get all the Kane Mattel figures, so I'm probably going to get this; and it's still a good fig. The Hardcore title is missing some detail I must say though.
Also, Kane didn't wear that glove in any matches, but he wore it for an advertisement for Shopzone in WWE Magazine back in 01.

so I guess to sum it up:
Pros-
We actually got the Hardcore belt
Nice to have a figure of Kane representing that era
Details are aplenty ("tape" on belt, attire is fully painted)
Cons-
Mask is too bright, not painted correctly and doesn't even match the outfit or era
Wrong boots, waist band is just paint not molded like E12
Overall body is way too small arms & torso especially
Hardcore belt lacks proper details and looks cheap
I think it's safe to say that Mattel's are just costing way too much to make anything special. $27.99 for a mediocre figure is shameful. At that price the belt should be shiny & fully detailed at the least
This is something that should have been released as a Flashback not a "premium online exclusive"
It seems really odd to pay attention to detail by adding the KANE logo on his glove, but then he has arms that fit a guy like Cody Rhodes or CM Punk, not Kane (that part isn't RSC fault but Mattel's)
I think we all from this point forward need to lower our expectations because all it ends up doing is making things that much more uninspired when we finally see it.

The leaked photos were a finished product so it wouldnt have been any different. The worse part I see of it is the painted on belt design. Why not just use the E12 lower body? Did it not have the sculpted belt on? |
