i dont get it either...he was over as fook. You answered your own question, in essence. He was over. Really over. As in, getting a stronger positive reaction than Cena. That just doesn't fly.

I don't see him as heel. Doesnt seem natural. Music is also of a face, not a heel. It makes you want to chant. Which you dot want as a heel.

I think it would be better if Ryback had won the match at Mania.

I sorta feel like if I go back and re-watch Cena vs Lashley from a few years back I could save my money and not order Extreme Rules. I just have a feeling this match will be a mirror image of it. Unless they actually have Ryback win. Which would be nice, but highly unlikely. i dont get it either...he was over as fook. You answered your own question, in essence. He was over. Really over. As in, getting a stronger positive reaction than Cena. That just doesn't fly. Hate to say it but you may be on to something. I'm in no way a Cena hater. Fact is, I like him. But it just seems like Ryback & Ryder both were cut short while receiving the loudest pops in the company. You'd think that would be a good thing, yet it isn't.

Punk falls under that category as well. He was still prominently featured as a heel, of course, but he had overtaken Cena in terms of on-screen popularity. His merchandise was frequently outselling Cena's, too. And I agree with you, I like Cena. I get that he's their guy, but Cena was never fully "accepted" as the guy by the overarching group of fans, and as a result, I've always felt like WWE constantly strives to protect him at all costs, even if it it hurts the product, another character's development, etc.

It was incredibly stupid to turn him heel. I don't see the need for it and I don't see exactly what makes him a heel when all he did to Cena was exactly what Cena has done to him for the past few months. And having him back down last week was even dumber and only made him generic heel # 297 on the roster. Having him get so many chances (three title shots against Punk, two matches with The Shield, the Rumble to Cena, Mark Henry at Mania 29) and fail again and again and again was awful booking. Everything about his push seemed rush, and I think everybody figured back at HIAC when they rushed him into the title picture that nothing good was going to come from it. Having him lose to Cena will just be the latest loss he suffers...I don't think it even matters anymore since they keep having him lose in every feud he's been involved in.

I can't take him seriously when he whined to Foley and took cheap shots at the crowd last night. It just made look more like a bitch than last week. I can't see Ryback recovering from this.

It's really starting to look suspicious how Punk, Ryder, and now Ryback, faces who were getting prominent and stronger reactions than Cena, had the rug pulled from underneath him. It's so foolish that Ryback was turned heel, when he was a legitimate fresh face that clicked. I don't think this heel turn will benefit him at all. Now, if Ryback wins the belt (which I doubt), he still won't be the man because the story will focus on Cena regaining. If Ryback loses, then he's just another heel who lost to Cena

i dont get it either...he was over as fook. You answered your own question, in essence. He was over. Really over Let's not get carried away. Ever since he's been pushed to the main event his reactions have been the least consistent of all the upper card guys on the roster. For every show that had people chanting feed me more loudly there were three shows where he got little reaction. Hell In A Cell - Got ZERO pop. Crowd was dead considering it was a HIAC match. Survivor Series - Again got little to no reaction especially when compared to Cena and Punk. TLC - Was the only member of his team to be booed and the Brooklyn crowd were merciless with the Goldberg chants. Royal Rumble - There were at least 5 more over babyfaces than him in the Rumble match. Elimination Chamber - Was the least over member of his team. Cena came out to a huge pop. Sheamus came out to a moderate pop. Ryback came out to no pop. Wrestlemania - Fans booed him and chanted boring during the match.

might start buying into the whole "gets bigger reaction than Cena.....turned heel" thing
Punk was the most obvious....guy was getting more people interested in the product, and outselling Cena in the merch front, yet they buried him in the mid card at Wrestlemania 28, and he didn't main event any PPV until the end of the year when he was a heel and turned into a "coward"
Ryder was gaining HUGE momentum, then all of a sudden nothing? he's treated like crap in a storyline involving.......John Cena
How about Daniel Bryan? Guy gets bigger crowd reactions than almost anyone, yet he's in a mid-card treadmill going nowhere fast, and continues to be made to look like the weakest link out of the team. Lost the WHC so fast.
Now Ryback....they have the next Batista here. A guy who can work, and will only get better. Limited mic skills, but there's time for that, and someone fans could like....yet because he was becoming huge, they turn him heel and will "feed him" (no pun) to Cena because they refuse to do ANYTHING different

Ryback vs Cena should be like Umarga vs Cena back in 2007, where Umaga destroyed Cena thru out the match until Cena smart-fully gets in a roll up for the win. LOL, that would actually work, make Cena look weak to Ryback by getting a cheap win.

I think they should have left him face. He was so over! Why do we always have to have face vs heel fueds? I love a face vs face or heel vs heel every once Ina while...

IMO it was a mistake to turn him heel. And it wasn't done well either. He could of been the next "cena" he was getting over with everyone in the crowd.

It wouldnt be such a big deal if it wasnt clearly obvious he turned heel just to be fed to Cena. Its career suicide for Ryback because whats the 1 reason why he even got pushed to begin with? He was OVER. The crowd doesnt like Cena, Ryback couldve been the tweener and still be cheered. No, They have him out there attacking the audience. So now its a person the crowd is sick of and will continue booing him vs a guy that nobody will even give a crap about during and AFTER their fued, much like R-Truth and his heel turn vs Cena.

The only thing entertaining to me about him, is getting to call him Rybread. That's pretty much it for me, so I wouldn't be hurt if he was on my TV less.

The fact that they turned him into Cowardly Heel #7 and Cena AA'd him on raw, is the nail in his coffin. Now he'll just be another guy on the roster.

welcome to 2013 WWE booking every heel is a coward who cant do anything for himself and whines....because that will get the stupid fans to boo them I give Ryback credit because as a heel he at least has some depth to his promos over what he used to do. But whoever is deciding they need to be 10 minutes long is mistaken Agreed. I would have preferred Ryback stay a tweener beating both face and heel

We all laughed months ago when he said he would be as big if not bigger than Cena, that he would carry the company etc.
But that actually became so close to reality that WWE shat themselves and put the brakes on him.
I feel sorry for Ryback. He was new, entertaining and fun. And now he's getting the same treatment Austin got in WCW.
