You know what's got me irritated? Where the hell is Hawkeye in all this? Fury and Black Widow are in Cap'n 2, but not Hawkeye. Is it possible that he may be in Thor 2? He was in the first Thor movie so maybe he'll return for the sequel.

So I really doubt it. </3 He's a BIG part of Age of Ultron along with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. It seems to me that Whedon is slowly introducing the next team of the Avengers. As horrible as it is to think of, RDJ, Hemsworth and Evans won't be available forever.

And Age of Ultron is 3 years away damnit. I'm going through withdrawals.
I really would've liked a standalone Hawkeye/Black Widow movie. I think it would've done well. Get Samuel L Jackson, make a SHIELD flick.

So last week I finished reading Age of Ultron, while Whedon says the movie won't pan out the exact same way as the comic, but he has included certain elements of the story into the script, you have to wonder if he'll feature any time travel as that's the main arc of the story. For those who don't know, the Avengers go back in time to defeat Ultron.
I'm guessing not as this will have already been done in DOFP. Interesting thought, though?

That poor city can only handle so much. I noticed in the comic there's some pretty cool destruction in San Francisco and Chicago, maybe those two cities will be major players in the movie? Large enough to cause plenty of destruction and both really well known. I'd love a scene involving Iron Man and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Hmm yeah I could see some other locale being used for A2.
San Francisco would be awesome.

I haven't read the AoU story yet, got the Hardcover Collection on order, but, how does the time travel occur in this story?
If it's Kang, that is one element of the story I would love Joss to use in the AoU movie & then set him up as th Villain after Thanos.
And if it's not, well, then that is a unique way that Joss could set up their own time travel themselves within the MCU with AoU.

I won't spoil it for you but neither Kang or Thanos make an appearance in the book.

Read the AoU hardcover the other day. I guess some stuff could be taken from it somehow, but it seems like so much would have to change from that story that maybe they will just be using the name?
In the cinematic universe, we have no Hank Pym, and Wolverine and Sue Richards are part of their own movie worlds. This would require gutting/disregarding/rewriting huge sections of plot. Thor and Hulk are nowhere to be found in the story, and Cap does pretty much nothing.
I don't know what the timeline is movie-wise, but we will need Hank Pym (unless everything Pym does will be passed to Stark instead) for pretty much everything to take place. Also, another major comic Avenger plays an interesting role in the time travel aspect, as well as common-to-comic ideas like Doom's time machine, morgana le fey, and alternate timelines, which all add up to significant changes to the movie from the actual AoU story.

Joss has already confirmed that there will be elements from the story used in his movie. Right, but, I wonder, how much will these elements really be? There will be Ultron. There will be Avengers (though it will be a very different group from that featured in AoU, which was heavily Hank Pym, Wolverine, and Invisible Woman). The heroes will possibly lose and have to go back in time to try and fix things. Other than that, I have a hard time seeing what, if anything, would be taken from the story. I don't care that they are using the AoU name or anything, I just don't see much coming from that particular Ultron story. As I mentioned, there is no Thor, Hulk, Cap plays a very limited role. Maybe there's a cool Hawkeye rescue scene where he frees Stark rather than Spider-Man. The larger roles, Pym, Wolverine, IW, even small but dramatic turns from Luke Cage, She Hulk, Spider-Woman, Spider-Man, etc. would need to be scrapped or heavily redone. I am excited for the movie, I'm just expecting Ultron, not Age of Ultron.
