It was claimed RDJ made $50 million of off Avengers, but it was actually between $70 - $80 million. I love RDJ, but that is ridiculous for one actor. Yeah, I know he's the A Lister of the 6, but even if he is getting to $70 or $80 million dollars, I think the other 5 deserve a bit more than $2 million. It doesn't have to be ridiculously high or RDJ type money, but say $10 - $12 million each, Marvel could afford it from their own pot & even if they couldn't, I'm sure Disney would be more than happy to cough up the cash. At the end of the day, Marvel are gonna end up screwing themselves trying to give these actors a shoestring budget. You can offer low wages to unknowns to give them a foot in the door / A break with Marvel, but once people are names, you got to pay name type value money otherwise we'll be getting more cast changes than ever if Marvel keep trying to low ball talents. It was $50 million, RDJ confirmed it himself with THR at the weekend. I'm not sure what the other actors got paid, I just know Hemsworth and Evans got $2 million each. I believe ScarJo was the second highest paid actor to work on the movie. I read that RDJ had his contract based on how much they make off they movie. Like a percentage. Everyone else had a set number. No sources, just what I've heard and it seems to make the most sense to me. |

AICN are reporting Glenn Close has been cast in GOTG......that's awesome.hopefully John C Reilly takes the part he has been offered too.

If they convince him to do Iron man 4, put in a REAL F'N Mandarin of some sort & give us FIN GANG FOOM! Make Iron Man 4 the last one & go all out, balls to the wall Iron Man vs. a Mandarin we deserve & a massive Dragon.Would be an Epic end Fight scene to finally put an epic end to the RDJ Iron Man's to rest & then recast for Iron Man 5. As awesome as that would be, I don't think that's gonna happen. They pretty much destroyed any chance of the Mandarin appearing in a future IM film, other than a possible reboot. And that really sucks because I was so hyped up about the Mandarin being in IM3 but unfortunately he was nothing more than a reference/throwback. And it's freakin IM's arch-nemesis, imagine if they did some sh*t like that with the Joker in a Batman film? |

I still think Guardians is going to turn out to be something I really love. I'm really digging the current Bendis run of the comics and I had no previous interest in the team. They sold me on Gaiman doing issue 5 so I bought in and I've really enjoyed the first two issues. |

yeah I think GOTG is gonna surprise a LOT of people. Agreed. They have already said GotG is going to be the weirdest Marvel movie ever. I think the cast is shaping up nice and they are doing the exact opposite of what Warner/DC did with GL, which is to take a story with great unique characters in a deep space setting (almost Star Wars like) and set it all on Earth. I just hope they get Jason Statham to voice Rocket  |

Karen Gillan of Doctor Who has now joined the cast as the lead female villain.
Seriously, I am so excited for this movie. I think it's going to be a game changer for Marvel. It's going to take the MCU to a whole new level and everything we've been used to seeing over the past 5 years is going to totally change. As of now, Asgard and the 9 realms are really the only other worlds within the Universe that we know a great deal about, once Guardians opens, I think we're going to see alot of stuff that will tie in with and be a huge part of Phase 3.

Rumors persist that S.W.O.R.D. will be introduced in GOTG or Thor II as well.......makes sense. If RDJ is done with stand alone IM movies, I think he could have some involvement with S.W.O.R.D. Unless of course the rights to S.W.O.R.D belong to Fox seeing as it's an X-Men property. |

Yeah, I read that they want him for the role of Rhomann Dey and that Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, and Ken Watanabe are wanted for his partner. I'd love to see Laurie in a Marvel movie. |

Benicio Del Toro has signed a multi-movie contract with Marvel and will make his first appearence in Guardians. Rumours going around are that he will be playing Thanos or Rocket Racoon.
I see the Thanos option being more viable if it is a multi-movie contract as reported. That's just rumours at the moment, for all we know he could be a SHIELD agent.
UPDATE: Del Toro has been cast in a lead role in the movie. So he's going to be playing a prominant character.

I could be wrong, but my personal opinion is that he will play Thanos. If true, I wouldn't be suprised to see it announced at ComicCon or something. Whoever is up for that role is obviously going to have Whedon's blessing, aswel. |

Man the cast for GOTG is interesting. Never read the comics, or even heard of them until the movie was announced, so I'm not sure what to expect from this. I'll still see it, just not as excited for it as other Marvel movies.

Thanos eh? Im intrigued to see how this all plays out. I think he'd make a good Thanos. I'm guessing the body would probably be CGI because Del Toro is quite small, but then really, whoever plays him will need bulking up in one way or another. Del Toro has an awesome voice aswel, it's deep and could be quite 'alien' sounding for Thanos. |
